so... surfing around I found these things called - RELAXERS -... it seems they are to get what we call - straight perm -... don't know. Im not sure. Anyone know the difference between the straight perm and relaxers? it seems to me it's the same, adding chemicals to straighten the hair... Actually, they sell the relaxers so that you can do it in your home... perhaps I will try it some day, and mess up my hair if it doesnt come out right

not really...
im no fob! *shuddup albert*
but yeah... alot of asians tend to go for the fobby hairstyles and it makes you look fobby...
but if youre caucasian its called an emo hairstyle...
my friend went to tutoring and the other students were pretty "whitewashed" as we would call them..
and they were like "omg your hair is so emo"... lol...

but not everyone can get these styles... im lucky to have naturally straight hair...
some asians have that kinda curly hair and it wouldn't look good at all...
its kinda like a permanent fro... poor thing.. lol

lol yeah i know what you mean about the white guy with asianhair thing... lol --> emo.

and as far as asians with curly hair, i actually dont know any asians with curly hair nor have i seen any with that sorta hair... at least when it comes to chinese and japanese people. it seems like some koreans have this type though.. i guess in that case, they hafta get some kinda perm. i suppose whoever you are, you can always get "asian hair" if you put some effort into it.

And is there any other ways to straighten?
one more question:
what is a straightening perm?
and for hair, is all i have to do is getting ti layered?
or is there other things i need my hair stylist to do?
thanks alot in advance

They range for AU$15-300+.

Straightening is what it literally does.

Straightening perms are hair treatments that permanently straighten your hair, thus not requiring a straightener every morning.

Getting your hair layered isn't everything. Your hair stylist can use a razor for all he/she cares. tongue.gif

i saw your hair , there is no need for you to get a straightener yet, your hair is too short.

straight perm is when people have really wavy hair, then they perm it to straight. (so they don't need to straighten their hair everyday).. from your picture. you have straight hair, so dont worry about it.

you can ask the stylist to cut your hair by adding a lot of layer and thining it right now, but its still kind of waste of money since you have at least 3-4month to grow before ur hair is long enough

Nice hair, but i think you should straighten the sides a little. you look like you just came back from swimming on a beach o.o (ie., too greasy/wet looking)

no one on this board really likes to give hairstyle suggestions from a hat (except a few). I can say that you picked a nice hairstyle from your previous post. If you like it and your face structure suits it, by all means - go for it!

lol... first off, like tbkonwso mentioned:: your hair is still too short. let it grow out first (im guessing maybe about 4 months at least) but its different for everyone..so who knows, maybe sooner. it would take me longer since my hair grows slowww
i got my straightener for FREE (chi brand) bc my uncle's ex-wife owned a salon, but they are somewhere around $100-120 USD.
straightening with a flat iron or a straight perm are the only ways i know of to straighten your hair
you asked what a straight perm is?? well, you know how some girls like to get perms to make their hair stay curly PERMENENTLY? well its that except your hair is straight PERMENENTLY. hence its called straight perm
layering usually isnt the only thing you need to do. just depends on your hair typpe. i have thick hair so i also get it thinned.
just let the hair stylist know what you want and they should be able to do it; if not i suggest switching hairstylists/salons until you find someone who can get you what you want. i had to move around 4-5 times before i found the right person to do it all
smile.gif

anymore questions?
lolll..i can go on and on about hair sweatingbullets.gif
