I take these steps:

1. towel dry hair
2. blow dry top bit, ensuring to not over blow dry my hair
3. straighten my hair
4. Schwarzkopf fiber applying it starting from the roots to the tips towards intended hair direction
5. Schwarzkopf wax tips of my hair

Duration: 10 mins all up

I just use hair product and style my hair in that direction. Maybe it could be my shampoo and conditioner? I use Sunsilk.

Plus I wish to the magical hair fairy every night for volumised hair.

I think the main reason for his hair is the texture. Very slightly wavy and damaged. Looking at your hair, I think it would be very hard for you to get it like his. But don't have to let that stop you from trying.

Anyone know a nice hairstyle which doesn't require thinning? I'm in the process of growing my hair, and it starts getting thick now. I also don't wanna get a haircut yet. I was thinking of something like Eeteuk's hair in this : http://i29.tinypic.com/4df14.jpg. Any thoughts?

alright having some difficulties here with my hair
it's been 2 months since my last hair cut and now it's growing and starting to get very thick and i think...not managable

here are pictures from pretty much all angles...my main problem is that i seem to lack volume the the top part of my hair, for that, im not quite sure if i have to leave it longer or to cut it short in order to spike it up?

ultimately i'm aiming for a hairstyle similar to Tony's ...maybe slightly spikier though...
and most of all, would it be better to just continue letting it grow, or to go get a trim?

firstly, asian hair has different texture than european hair. But for volume, what I would do is thin your hair, then wait for it to grow out, and keep thinning it without reducing the length too much and you will end up with layers. Now after you blowdry you should get a decent amount of volume. Then apply some wax like air rise to bring that volume up and hairspray. =)
