First time posting on here, so I have a few questions:
1)What are the basic fundamentals for styling your hair?
2)When other people straighten their hair, why do they use a hair straightener? What if your hair's already straight? What does a hair straightener do?

As you can see, I'm basically clueless ;_;

1. Techinique and tools.
2. Why do they use a hair straightener? Because they want to straigthen their hair. That's pretty straight forward. If your hair is already straigth, you don't have to use a straightener. That too was straight forward. Literally, a hair straightener does that, straighten hair. Cannot get any more obvious/simple/literal that than. mellow.gif

Hi, long time reader first time poster.

I've been growing my hair for about 5 months now because i got shaved in the summer sweatingbullets.gif . I've been wanting to get something similar to tony's hairstyle and i'm planning to get my hair cut in about 5 weeks. Also, I wish to colour my hair the same colour as tony in his most recent pic. Can anyone tell me the name of the colour he has ?

1) you have a gap between your fringe and sideburns, you should grow that part of your hair out

2) are you styling your hair with only 1 mirror? (a mirror in front of you), because it looks like you are. you need a second mirror to see how your hair looks from the side.

your hair looks like a down slope from the side, it shouldn't look like that. if you refer to tonys side pic, the side view should look like a circle.

you're also styling the top part of your hair wrong, hence the downslope looking thing from the side view. none of your top hairs should be pushed back with wax, only the hair behind/below the crown.

3) your bangs are really long. it makes you look emo, although i'm certain you're not emo.

I was kinda bored so what 2 do if your bored.... right!! Style up ya hair hehe tongue.gif

So after 20mins or so i was done and the ends that i wanted to stand up... stayed up whieee biggrin.gif

But when i was in the club.... is was all flat tears.gif not really flat but not as much detailed as it was...

And when i felt my hair is felt a bit greasy :S

This is what i used to do my hair:

Blow dryer
Straightener (babyliss .. any good? or need a better one like remington)
L'oreal a pink bottle for blow drying and straightening
Sebastian xtah rude clay
Got2b hair spray / Schwarzkopf xtreme hold

After blow drying and straightening is use a little bit of clay to style it and then hair spray the whole thing. But it will not stand up sad.gif

So what am i doing wrong?? And what about that greasy feeling?

Oh and my Gatsby Purple is on its way heheh tongue.gif

Sorry, but those long bangs covering half your face looks pretty queer.

I don't know what look you're going for. But I dislike the really long bangs with everything else being short. I'd cut off the bangs. And if you want long hair, you can just let the bangs grow more proportionately with the rest of your hair. And I can't really tell clearly from the picture, but it looks like you have this weird long hair thing at the very back of your hair? With the rest of the back being short?

i think it just looks "queer," because his sides are ridiculously short compared to his bangs

wow starting from nothing & going for something similar to tony, that's a good idea, but Tony is really good at doing his hair ^^' you'll have to train a lot before being able to do your hair like him ohmy.gif

from what i remember tony goes back to black hair didn't he? >_<°
but he used to have "gatsby clear brown"

good luck and show us pics as soon as possible =D !!!

^ greasy feeling is probably a result of the wax...
it happens when you've had wax + hairspray in your hair for ages...
and probably since you went clubbing, sweat may have added to the greasy effect...

and the sweat could've caused the hair to flop...
if you've got alot of hair, ie. thick hair, then you may want to get it thinned out...

I got also a other wax but that makes it also greasy.. and im not using a lot only a little

It was already kinda flat before i was in the club, atleast what i could see in the rear view mirror of my car smile.gif

Also it was a rainy day but i had my trusty umbrela with me laugh.gif

Yeah already thought of that but a lot of people here say that i have to wait with it because i want to grow length... a few pages back you can see what i have and want..

Hope that gatsby will work better then what i have now
