Nice hair does not come right out of the salon. If you guys are wanting these styles, they take lots of patience. First of all, the cut itself is the base..and after that, it needs to grow out into that style. Many people don't realize that and rush to chop it all off when it's in the growing stages. Hence, many don't see the true final result of their cut! Depending on the growth rate of your hair..It can take weeks to months.
******
There are the results. First has a dab of matte on the back and sides..and second is a Gatsby transformation.
There are no tricks, just a patience with reworking your fingers around your head and you're bound to get the look you want.
Like many things in your life, it is just a skill, so just keep practicing as you would a sport or a favorite hobby. It is all do-able! Good Luck!
Cheers,

I'll do it like that in a few days here and post another picture.

I started January of this year growing it out...then around June I got a haircut. I had that shorter/spiky hairdo.
Then I decided to get a longer hairstyle so I just kept growing it out.

agreed eat a lot of protein and multivitamins (GNC MEGAMEN works wonders ^^)
The Legend: have your friend show his whole face so that when he does grow out his hair we can see what type of style he can pull it off. Either bangs or no bangs etc. since you guys already know u have to grow it out and yeah haha.

a good way to protect ur hair from drying out is when u shower, rinse your hair with cold water or at least warm [not HOT] and when u get out of the shower DONT blow dry ur hair AT ALL...cuz the heat just damages more. you should use a towel to pat/rub to make it damp and let it air dry. after, your hair will feel smoother and softer [after a few times]. its best to do it everyday or at least 3-4 times a week. OR either that IF u have to use something like straightener...u should DEEP CONDITION ur hair once 2 weeks or so. its BEST to try not to use as much heat as possible. oh and always use conditioner but dont use TOO MUCH. hope that helps^^

Taken a few months ago, growing it out more, thinned it only once, lol..

Taken around the same time as the previous picture. I should get it thinned at the salon but since the guy always cuts parts by accident, I started cutting myself. Going for the long style is nice too, you don't necessarily need to put wax and it still looks good, right?

Yeah, the sideburns take a lot of time to grow, but the most important is to let them grow from the middle of your head (on the sides), not just the little sideburn next to your ear. You want to get your sideburn as thick as possible and giving a "long" length effect when it will be thinned. Also, when you go thin your hair to the stylist, it's really easy to put wax on it and do the spikes after. Gatsby works well, but there's another good one I use which is KMS molding paste. You guys should try it out, about 20$ for a bottle.

it amazes
i tired to grow out my hair like them and i did but then it is so hard for me to keep up with long stylish hair.
so i went to a typical asian look. short spikes but after i cut off my long hair i actually miss it.
this was my hair before

and now.
