this is a pretty old joke that i heard a while ago...not sure if it has been posted before::

This guy named Brian had been living with his roommate Stephanie for quite a few months before Brian's mom came to dinner. She noticed that Stephanie seemed like a really nice girl, and she was watching how Brian and Stephanie interacted over dinner. She noticed Brian and Stephanie giving each other looks and giggling and all, but when she brought it up to Brian later that night, Brian denied it all the way insisting there was nothing going on between him and Steph. So after a few days of her visiting, Brian's mom left. Stephanie noticed that her favorite silver ladle was missing, and she suspected that his mom took it. So Brian emailed his mom which said "Dear Mom, I'm not saying that you did and I'm not saying that you did not, but the fact remains that ever since you left, this ladle has been missing."...and a couple days later, Brian got a reply from his mom which said: "Dear Brian, I'm not saying that you do and I'm not saying that you do not, but the fact remains that if Stephanie had been sleeping in her own bed, she would have noticed that the ladle is right underneath her pillow."
