Either females who sing only/mostly ballad or singers who mix a few in their cds...Name some you think are the best at delivering a ballad.

My mind's kinda blank right now. All I can think of is Lee Soo Young (queen of ballads) and Lyn. They have great voices and I think can deliver ballads very well. Actually, I think a lot of singers can deliver ballads well. ^^

But for voices, I love how Ivy sounds when she sings ballads :].

There are so many. Yeah, Lee Soo Young is the first name that comes to my mind. Recently, there are a lot of new female ballad singers too - Beige, Sei, SAT, Ruby, etc.

Don't forget Jang Nara is a ballad singer too. biggrin.gif

lee soo young is indeed one of the best, shes no imitation to american singers and she has her own style, elegant, as well ^^.

I love Lee Soo Young and CSJH. I really like how emotional BoA sounds when she sings ballads live though...breathtaking =]

I think Park Hwayobi is the best female ballad singer in Korea to date. I haven't heard anyone top her yet. I think what make her ballads powerful is that she sings with so much emotion. Lim Jeong Hee has really good ballads too.

The Pros
1. Big Mama
i love their voices, solo and as a group.
so soulful and emotive.
they feel what they're singing and it seeps
to the listener.

2. Lee Soo Young
there's no one else like her.
her voice is unique, difficult to mimic.

Rookies
1. Beige
she surprised me with her vocals.
she has a very soothing quality to her voice.

2. Ji Eun (YG)
reminds me of Big Mama.
emotive and very expressive.
It takes 42 muscles to frown at an annoying person but only 4 muscles to punch the crap out of them.

SeeYa without a doubt is a great trio of ballad singers, though Yeon Ji definitely stands out on her own when she has her solos in their songs. Yet as a group they're very good.

CSJH/TSZX are excellent ballad singers because they can harmonize so well together. (For example: My Everything)

Beige - a newcomer to the stage, but her voice has not only a "soothing" quality as many of her fans mention but also a unique tinge to it that gives her ballads her own twist. I can't wait to hear more from her.

Of course SAT, is also another relatively new face to the entertainment industry. Excellent voice there as well.

Younha, someone that no one ever seems to mention anywhere, has an absolutely AMAZING voice. She will floor you. Period. She can sing pop, rock, ballads and even rap with pitch perfect quality and style every time.

Jang Ri In (Zhang Li Yin) - more R & B style tinged ballads, but an absolutely beautiful voice for someone so young. I wish her problems with her record labels can be resolved soon, because I cannot wait to hear more from this young amazing talent.

Other odd notables:

Wonder Girls - Not bad, definitely pin them as more of a pop group, but their latest performance of their single: 미안한 마음 has proven that they can sing ballads as well.

Chae Yeon - Her latest MV (Han Saram (한 사람)) was a ballad style, tinged with some pop per her usual style. An interesting song that was overall, not bad.

Beige- ^ like you've mentioned has a nice and unique voice..

byul- one of my ultimate faves..she has a beautiful voice

lim jeong hee- def another fave and idol..

lee soo young- has a really unique voice that can go high without hurting ur ears..

KYU<3 = LOVE
