I'm currently a Junior. All of the people I hang out with have taken at least their SATI.. On the other hand, I haven't. I'll be taking my SATI in June and since there aren't any SAT tests over the summer I have to wait until October for my SATII.

I'm worried.. Am I falling behind?

I would consider you a little behind, but that depends on how you do on the June SAT. Most people (the ones I know at least) try to finish their SAT I's junior year. Once senior year starts, there isn't much time to deal with SAT I's, as you finish up SAT II's and start filling out college apps

You just need to manage your time well once senior year rolls around. Good luck!

You're pretty behind because June is SAT II time (I'll be behind because I haven't signed up yet!). But atleast you can have a second try in Sept, Oct, and Dec if you don't like your scores.

I took my SATI and SATII during my senior year in high school and I was still able to make it to my school of choice... It depends on how you want to score and like what college you are planning to go to. Good luck! ^^

i'm a junior too; i took my first sat I in march... and i'll take it again next fall (for colleges)...
You should get one of those "10 real SATs" books, that is from the college board, and really try to take one of those as a real test... It will give you the experience you need to take the test for real in june...
and again in the fall if you need to... Although in the fall you're probably going to want to take SAT IIs....

I took it too late & I learned my lesson. Take it ASAP and study REALLY hard to get a top score so you can start taking your SAT II's.

I took the SAT for the first time in June my junior year, too. I took the SAT IIs first (May of junior year). It worked out fine for me taking it then and early my senior year. Don't stress. It's not a race! On the other hand, you won't have as many shots at the SAT I (I took it again early my senior year) because you have to fit in your SAT IIs senior year. Getting some of those out of the way junior year is ideal. I took all three of my SAT IIs junior year.

P.S. for other people worried about scheduling tests:

Early May is actually the best time to take SAT IIs, in my opinion, because you're already preparing for AP exams in the same subjects in most cases. People who take their SAT IIs in June have already studied for those, too, but then they don't get to take advantage of studying concentratedly for both at the same time. My SAT II tests actually helped me get in gear for AP exam time and do better.
Hey, look! Finally a different signature after all these years!

i was like this.
i took my first SAT I in june and planned on taking my IIs in october & november.

but i did HORRIBLY on my SAT I that i HAD to retake it and couldn't have time to take my IIs.
so i had to pretty much give up some schools that required 2 SAT IIs.

don't be like me. lol

OMG T_T I am way behind.

I'm taking my SAT I in June too haha.

I am so stupid, I didn't even take the PSATS sophmore or junior year.. I am so. unprepared. there was so many things going on when it was around the test taking time and I wasn't able to sign up for any of them T_T

I almost missed out on signing up for the June one too.. I had to pay the late fee T^T

I think I was the same.. I started later than everyone else. You're probably a little behind. Starting earlier just gives you more time to improve your score. I only realized a while back. -.-;; BAHH.

you're somewhat behind, but not really. If you work hard, I'm pretty sure you can get back on track.
I've heard of '07 seniors who have just taken their Sats a few months ago. O___O crazy...

I realized after signing up in June that I'd be utterly screwed when I took a SAT II for Chem. HAH. That's what I get for not thinking. Now, I'm going to start praying and cramming my ass off for the June SAT and hope I do well. Oh dang. =/ I hope i don't need that second chance O_O Anyhow, good luck to you!!

I'd say you're a little behind, but don't worry, you have two other chances to take it before applications are due.

It really depends.
Are you planning on ED-ing any school?
If you are, you're most likely behind.
If you're planning on ED-ing, you should have SATI, SATII scores by at least October.

However, if you're planning on regular apps, then you shouldn't stress as much.
You still have another 4 months, well I guess 3 excluding your SAT month to either retake or take your SATI or SATII respectively.

Good luck! wink.gif

No, my friend took all her tests senior year and got into Stanford and Berkeley. Another friend did the same thing and got into USC, NU, UChicago, the list goes on. So don't freak out, taking it your senior year doesnt necessarily mean you'll have a disadvantage - just study harder over the summer.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

Don't even worry! I'm not taking mine until June as well for the first time, and I'm unprepared as hell. I need to hardcore study like no other dry.gif. Now I'm freaking out. But as long as I take it this time, I can always take it again in the fall so I'm not as worried much.
