just be really outgoing and let them capture your personality first
but 10 people? isnt that a little small for a squad? >< ehh iunno. our team has like maybe 20 or 30?
anyway you could go to youtube and try to search some videos
or ask around and try to get info on how other people are doing their tryouts
and if your flexible thats a +++++
at my tryouts they just taught us the basics first,
then evalutated us on what we learned

I'm not a cheerleader now, but I tried out for the team when I was a freshman. No dancing or cheerleading experience whatsoever and I made it.
I think what really helps is to be LOUD when you're calling out the cheers. Because duh, you're going to be cheering in front of people and they need to hear you. Be enthusiastic, SMILE, blah, blah, blah.
When you're doing arm movements, keep them straight, stiff, and firm. Cheerleading isn't about being like all loopy in your movements (HAHA I don't know how to word it), but you just have to be straight and stiff like an arrow. I hope that makes sense.
But like the above said, they usually teach you first at tryouts. At my school, they taught us a basic and easy cheer. Then at actual tryouts, people went in three at a time and did the cheer and they evaluated you. It was so nerve-wracking...we had to go into the room one at a time and go like "YEAH GO BAY! EAGLES ARE NUMBER ONE!" before we started the cheer. HAHA.

How many of the girls that are trying out were on it before? Also, you should start practicing your jumps and stuff right away. If you don't know how to do them, try talking to someone that was on the squad before. It took me a while to get my toe touches perfectt.
When you do the routine, smile A LOTTT. And make sure your moves are super tight. Squeeze your fists if you're doing a high-V or something like that. Have a bunch of cute facials and make it over dramatic.
To learn the routine...practice it 53161 times. Your muscles would remember it. It's called muscle memory lol. Practice with a friend, anything helps.
Yeah, search youtube videos ^^ Those can help too.

hi there! my experience: ive cheered for 4 consecutive years at pacifica highschool. the team i am on right now is varsity cheer as co-captain. we're USA Regional Champions 2 years in a row. we made finals and finished 2nd at the USA Nationals competition `07. so what im going to tell you right now.. you can probably take into consideration
if you wish
during tryouts..
ALWAYS have a positive attitude
volunteer when they ask for volunteers
dont be shy to show "facials" which means smile & be cheesy
cheerleaders are meant to cheer on the crowd
be sure to show that you definitely want to be there
sharp motions (youll understand what that means soon)
use your deeper.. more confident voice when yelling the cheers & cut your words.. dont sing it
when spiriting dont "wooooo" "ahhhh" say things like "Yeah!" "(Schools name)" "Fire it up Big (Schools color)" "We've got it!"
(oh & make sure you practice your jumps, cheers, and the dance at home.. tumbling if you have any)
practice practice practice
stretch at home
i used to be in the same position as you when i entered phs as a freshman. i was scared and i had no experience whatsoever.. i was the only asian among the 40 girls out there trying out that day. i just knew that i wanted to be a cheerleader.. and i loved to dance so i felt as though this was the place for me.. i just went in and stayed confident.. practice makes perfect okay? goodluck. i know youll make it
