Nah, I don't really care about celebrities much. Who cares if they're handsome or gorgeous, you just sit there and stare at their pictures but what's the benefit for you? Nothing, complete waste of time.

in fact, for a variety of reasons, American movies are becoming more popular in India: this article for example quotes an indian guy who says he's ONLY seen Hollywood movies this year (and no Bollywood) because american studios dub movies in his native dialect and the movies are more exciting
there are a lot of beautiful indian girls out there among 1 billion people. it's unfortunate however that there's so much discrimination in indian society so only light skinned, caucasian looking girls can dream of being miss india or in bollywood movies. ive met many nice looking dark indian girls who are beautiful as well, but that often have hard times marrying an indian guy because of the intense discrimination towards darker skin. also indian girls are hairy and dont smell as nice as korean/japanese girls so that's another issue. in a country like korea, basically anyone who can afford the plastic surgery can at least try to become an actress
overall, india has a very strong and well-established movie industry. I like musicals and the folk-derivative themes of some indian movies ive seen remind me of north korean musicals of the 70s and 80s

anyhow. i really really love how they combine colourful dance and music into the storyline. kyaa~
favourite movies gotta be kabhi khushi kabhi gham. it's so famiily-oriented, you know, something you can watch with the whole family while having family bonding? okay whatever. and oh god, koi mil gaya! like, a sci-fi movie, hello? aliens and UFOs? but to think it moved me, i must say it really was a huge success. and hrithik was effing cute in that too so that's a plus! and i love kabhi alvida naa kehna too! it's so scandalous! hee~ that's the last bollywood movie i watched though. boo.

I can remember a lot of Hindi films that I enjoyed as a little girl but I can't remember which ones were my favorites. Recently, I've really liked "Hum Tum". That movie is sooo cute. The music in it is addictive too. And of course "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", which is a classic.
I have always thought that Indian women are very gorgeous. Light skinned or dark skinned most are very very pretty.
The Indian movie industry comes out with more movies per year than any other country. I'm not complaining.

My favorite Indian actress would have to be Rani Mukherjee. It used to be Kajol but in real life, she seems very stuck up. She says out of 100 people she meets, she doesn't like 99 of them. I dunno, and the way she talks, she seems very difficult to get along with. Madhuri Dixit is pretty awesome too. I like Aishwarya Rai too but I don't really like her films as much besides Devdas. She has really good dance numbers though. I love watching the traditional dance numbers in Bollywood films. I love the jewelry and traditional clothing too!
As for actors, no one beats Shah Rukh Khan. He is the man, asides from Amitabh Bachchan, but he is a legend who is still acting...he's incredible. Hrithik Roshan is super hot and I love Abishek Bachchan (Aishwarya Rai's husband) too. He seems like a great guy and easy to get along with, he has a great personality so he is actually a great catch for those who think Ash could have married someone better. He stole the movie in Khabi Alvidaa Ne Kehna, he is an awesome actor too. Another favorite would be Saif Ali Khan, he is great at comedy but has proven he's also very versatile.
I love Indian actresses' eyes. They have the most gorgeous enormous eyes! Practically all the actresses are gorgeous but the guys are not with the exception of a very few. This is one industry where good looks are not required IF you are male, haha. Someone mentioned discrimination about being dark skinned and it is true because you never see a really dark actress in a movie, like ever.
In general, I enjoy Bollywood movies, I just wish they would concentrate on producing more quality pictures with great script and more research done. Like for instance, I saw one movie where the character was just mute, she could hear and everything but just couldn't talk, yet she was labelled dumb, not because they were making fun of her but because apparently a person who doesn't have the ability to speak is considered dumb! This character was also supposed to know sign language but the actress barely knew any sign language. The actor in this movie played a character who pretended to be "dumb" meaning he couldn't talk either but the actor just came across like he was mocking the deaf. I fould this movie pretty ridiculous BUT it had good songs, lol. So this is what I mean when I wish Bollywood would do their homework when working on films. I'm not hatin because I like Bollywood but alot of Bollywood films are like this where it is obvious the story is hard to believe.
Sorry for the long post, hehe.

u wont find as much good movies as englsh ones
and yes the actors migt be goodlooking but some cant even act
like Miss Aishwarya although i loved Devdas, she barely acted o_O
But i do really enjoy some movies
I LOVED humtum and then i found it was a remake of some english movie
I love rani mukherjee but that movie black, wth was that o_O
and ohh Nicaruagua orsomething like that has wn just as much miss contest
it was a tie i though ^^
and sooo many Bollywood movies coming
more than the half arent even good
and there r way more prettier girls than Aish
like diya mirza, she's stunning to me
its just ,she doesnt have light eyes so her face doesnt stand out much
but she's just gorgeous, just look at her recent pix
The dark sin thing is also true cause only 'dark' actrice that comes to my mind is euh Bipasa basu, but on movies they put tons of make up to make her look light
Actors, not too many with good looks (exept model turned actors like Arjun Rampal
Like Abhi baby :] , Saif ali khan , Arshad Warsi euhm Shahid Kapoor etc cant remember al
l
Because of the FEW very good to good movies ,bollywood is getting known wordwide =)

i remember that when i was small i hated when my mom watched india (bollywood) movies but as i got older i started to like and then now love them. i think the one movie that made me really love bollywood movies was Yeh Vaada Raha. the music was superb, the main actors/actresses were gorgeous (altho rishi was not in the best shape but still good), and the acting was really good. the plot was good enough to carry through.
now i watch less indian movie but i still try to catch movies that kajol makes. she's my favorite actress. she may not be the prettiest bollywood actress but she really conveys the character's emotions very well.
favorites (the ones that i can remember for now):
yeh vaada raha
kuch kuch hota hai
kabhie khushi kabhie gham

I thought I was the only one who thought Rani is the better actress. She can do a range of characters, be it in comedy or something serious. I think most Bollywood fans tend to think Aish is a better actress because of her beauty.\
Its funny there is a bollywood thread on this forum, there is a thread on Korean dramas and movies on the bollywood forum (bollywhat-forum.com).
I should create a blog that caters to Bollywood and Kdrama fans, just a thought.
