getting either a Nintendo Ds Lite or a Sony Psp

I want nintendo ds cause of some of the games ex.
Mario brothers and etc and also you can chat with other Nintendo ds'ers

And for sony psp you can watch movies and also play games..

So which do you guys think is better, Ds Lite of Psp?

look at the games and judge for yourself what type of games you will like. basically, the 2 handhelds have very different types of games so it's actually very easy to choose.

depends on what type of games you'll be playing. psp has better graphics, but I like the games for the ds better.

To fully take advantage of the PSP's media capabilities, you'll have to invest some money into a larger memory stick and also some time to maybe search forums in order to find good video converters. With the games, I don't think PSP games are worth for what they are selling it for. I'm lucky I got into the homebrew scene way back when it first started. I'd get a DS. It's the one I use most for games. Plus with an R4 investment, you'll never have to buy another game.

i have both. I really enjoy the graphics and games on the psp better, the games are more PS2 geared. (more action gust and gore) the movie part is great, but isn't THAT great.

The DS has some GREAT games, they are really fun and the multiplayer function is great! the games are more nintendo oriented.

I would get the one where your friends has so you can multiplayer.

Having all the new video game systems out there (PS3, WII, XBOX360, PSP and DS), i mostly play the DS because its fun, innovating to me, and i have fun with other friends and play multiplayer with them. Its a very fun system, and i always see people with DSes more then psps, but i guess it determines what your friends may also play. But if i had to choose one, get a DS, seems like they are always makeing new and fun games to play.

DS!

Personally, I hated my PSP. Just too big and bulky to use as an MP3 player, hurts your eyes watching movies. Very few good games.

Go for a Nintendo DS. It has a much stronger library of games when compared with the PSP

Now I definitely know there was another thread like this one which asked the exact same question.

And just like the other thread, my answer is the same: Just Get Both.

Seriously, don't even think of it as which is better than the other...rather, think of it: what different fun things can each console give me for me to be entertained in every way?

Cuz really, both consoles have something the other doesn't, and just having only one side of entertainment rather than having both sides won't really provide you with complete entertainment. Having only the PSP won't change the fact that it lacks exciting game interactions that the DS can provide. Likewise, having only the DS won't change the fact that it lacks awesome graphics and versatility, something the PSP can provide.

Then again, it's really up to you, of course.

But of course if this is a matter of MONEY...then just get the DS first; it's cheaper.

well if you have money = go for PSP.. and invest in a 4 gig mem card (around 70 @ amazon) and put movies and save games in there.. and psp has more games appealing to adults..
if your kinda lacking cash but can afford it.. go for DS.. its just 130 bucks + games are 35 each!

so id say PSP is for mature audiences who likes to watch movies and whatnot and DS is for younger audiences who likes pokemon and stuff.. lol my 11th grader friends play Pokemon at lunch and its really funny watching them play

Who cares about the multimedia capabilities. It's a nice touch, but not needed when the purpose for it is to play games.

I agree with dudeman, just get both.

If you can't decide, then just get both. You'll be happy.

my sister has a DS
i have a PSP
i can assure that the DS will keep you entertained longer, so it's more worth it in the long run :] See, the DS has WAAY more good games, where as the PSP is lacking good games. So the psp has music and video capabilities; i take advantage of those. now if you dont wanna use money to buy movies, you have to download and convert; not fun. and not to mention the expensive memory cards
DS - pokemon, kirby, cooking mama, final fantasy, legend of zelda coming up, alot of stuff that makes it awesome.

GO GO GO DS!

I have a PSP, but it got really boring after a while, since there's not many games that I enjoy playing out. And the games are really expensive. sad.gif
I really really want a DS Lite, mainly because there's sooo many fun games that I'd like to play, and hey, who doesn't want to play with a touch screen? ^^
*sigh* I want a pokemon pearl/diamond tears.gif

I was going through the same thing.

It really depends. If you want to watch movies and listen to music as well as play games, get the psp. I chose to go for the ds lite since I wanted to play games on my system. 2nd, I think the battery life is greater on the ds, and there's a greater number of games for the ds.

the psp has pretty sweet graphics but they're pretty much the same as a ps2 (which I already have), plus the load times are pretty painful I heard. And personally, I think good graphics are only meant for larger screens instead of having a great amount of detail on a small screen. Plus I don't think I would want watch 2-3 hour long movies on such a small screen. And the music player built-in is pretty much useless since I already have an ipod.

Out of both consoles, I'd rather the DS lite because:

* it's cheaper
* fun games
* more fun in the long run
* not too heavy/bulky

the PSP, I think, is impractical because:

* it's too heavy
* the screen is too small to watch movies on
* you have to invest in a larger memory stick on top of what u paid for it
* games are expensive

and come to think of it, most of the stuff that the PSP has, you most likely already have on your phone already minus the gaming.
