hey can anybody recommend any older K-pop singers...not really trot style, but more on the Pop/ R&B genres..kinda like Insooni?

probably ones who's careers started in the 80s or late 70s.... thanks.

I think R&B genre did not become popular in k-pop until late 90s. unsure.gif

As for strictly pop, older singers I can think of are mostly ballad singers:

Cho Yong Pil
Lee Moon Sae
Kim Kwang Suk

totally agree with what edward1849 said...I think R&B didn't become popular until the 90s.

Lee Moon Sae is great!! I love his songs. The 3 that edward mentioned are all great singers.

Some other older singers (over 40) that I like:
Lee Sun Hee
Lim Jae Bum
Lee Hyun Woo
Lee Seung Hwan
Kim Jong Su
Lee Ji Yeon
Jo Kwan Woo

*edit*

just youtubed some of them:
Lee Ji Yeon- lol she was so cute! she really is giving me Tiffany's mall rat vibe..love it (altho her voice isn't the best..i like it smile.gif )
Lee So Ra- I REALLY LIKE HER VOICE. very soulful...she really looked like she was feeling her song (i youtubed believe)
Lee Seung Hwan -- youtubed you to you...oh man..i really like this song..and the video is can't-take-my-eyes-off-it material...thanks!

Lee Hyun Woo- reminds me of Elvis...i don't know the name of the song i youtubed, but he's a boxer in the vid..eh..it was kinda boring..good voice tho..wink.gif
Lim Jae Bum -OMG his voice is sexy. end.of.story. i love his voice...vid i youtubed: go hae. so much soul in the performance...loved it. again thanks!!
Lee Sun Hee- this woman has some pipes on her...damn!! i was grooving with her foreals...kinda reminds me of Tina Marie...love it.
Kim Kwang Suk- his voice is very sweet. i was reading the comments...did he commit suicide unsure.gif ...tha's so sad....i hate hearing things like that...

edit
@ edward, i know that r&b didn't become popular in korea until the 90s but i just meant the singers who started singing during that time (80s and up) who did those genres as well smile.gif
