okay, so my laptop is acting weird...when i turn on the computer, it just has my background & the icons are not there....what should i do?

Try running explorer.exe and see if that brings things back to normal.
To do that, press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC at the same time to bring up the Task Manager. Go to File > New Task (Run...) > then type in "explorer" and hit <ENTER>.

i have a similar problem too..i think...everthing in computer seems to be enlarged and there are no icons visible...someone help me too! thanks

If it's enlarged, try right-clicking your desktop -> properties -> (tab) settings and change the screen resolution 1024x768 or whatever your regular screen resolution is...
For OP: try right-clicking your desktop -> make sure that under "arrange icons," the "show desktop icons" thing is unchecked
