I hope with the one month break, the Gossip Girl writers can wake up from the drunken stupor and actually come up with a decent solution to the mess created. Otherwise, this would be the start of the downfall, much like that of The OC.

Even though I'm addicted, I kind of think Gossip Girl has jumped the shark. The first season was amazing. Now it's just random plotlines that get dropped unfinished (Where is CYRUS? Why has no one ever addressed that Blair and Aaron are SIBLINGS now? And, um, why was the Chuck-living-with-Lily-again issue not addressed either?). Way to go Josh Schwartz, for repeating the OC.

This hiatus better give us something good. Maybe a Blair/Chuck reunion? I shudder at Blair/Nate, but I guess anything's better than Vanessa.

Exclusive: 'Gossip Girl' spots Anne Hathaway-inspired plot

Forget that ho-hum Oscar nomination. Now Anne Hathaway has something even cooler to brag about: her very own Gossip Girl plot!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the show is planning a season-ending story line loosely inspired by the actress' infamous (and fizzled) romance with Italian grifter Raffaello Follieri, who was convicted last October on 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy. In the world of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively's Serena will play the unsuspecting ingenue who falls for a handsome European socialite -- in this case a hunk named Gabriel (casting is under way).

Though she won't confirm or deny the story's Hathaway-esque twists, executive producer Stephanie Savage reveals that Serena's beau is "very well-traveled, part of the global elite. He's not a brooding artist like Dan or Aaron rose. He's definitely a grown-up, and that's something Serena is very attracted to."

Word is that GG's version of the story will take a turn that is so much darker than the Hathaway saga that it ultimately puts Serena's life in danger. Moreover, it triggers the return of Michelle Trachtenberg’s Georgina Sparks and casts our heroine's sworn frenemy in the unlikely role of savior.

What do you guys think? Is GG smart to be ripping stories from the headlines? Or are you annoyed that so early in its run, its writers are already cribbing plotlines from the tabs? Sound off below. (You first, Anne.)

Ugh, Blair has been driving me crazy this season. I know she's supposed to be lovably annoying and mean, but now, she's just been reduced to a whiny, *really* annoying character. I know everyone here adores her and her little shenanigans, but she's getting really obnoxious.

On another note, at first, I felt like I could kiiiiind of relate to Miss Carr. I was mistaken for a student on my first day of school, love English, blah blah blah. When she said the line to Dan about, "I don't really have any friends in this city," I could also relate. One or two of my awesome students have almost become like friends, since they speak English better than any of my co-workers and are constantly looking out for my well-being. It can be easy to talk with older students like they are your age, especially when you feel pretty isolated (in her case, new city. In my case, different language). However...I dooooooon't think I'm going to be seducing any of my male students. I like my job, don't fancy getting fired.

Blair and Nate are both at a crossroads. Blair has to accept she isn't going to Yale. Nate is being sucked into his family's expectations, and they are both there for each other and enjoy the familiarity. At first it's platonic, but, of course, that doesn't last long.

as for B & C fans, the writers told us just to hang in there maybe in season 3 they will have something for us to see

I also read that they are going to stick to the Anne Hathaway storyline for Serena

Gossip Girl is currently casting for a sexy pants jet-setter with an accent. The character, Gabriel Serrano, will be either South American, Australian or a continental European.

Gabriel is set to be in his 20's, we hear, so he's probably a love interest for Ms. van der Woodsen and/or one of her pals. So if the Hathaway parallel plays out, should we expect that this affair will turn as sour as Anne's did with her own handsome Italian crook? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

most definitely Blair and Chuck will cross paths in the upcoming episodes. just cant believe we all have to wait until march 16th!!! crazy for making us wait that long! just hope there will be a lot of BTS photos and spoilers leaked along the way haha

despite me having a soft spot for NB (just because their history and the photos of them together are just so pretty ). I think CB is not over. It may be a good thing that NB is rekindling their friendship and a step towards something more.. but I am a fervent CB shipper. Chuck just has to step up and realize what he will be losing. And i think this NB will shake him to the core enough to act. I hope.

I agree. it would be interesting if they use this SL to add interest. Doesnt have to be every episode just once in awhile like the mini-gossip girls. or atleast have Blair or Dorota mention him and his weirdness.
