How would you react to a female friend giving hints that she likes you:
a) if you didn't like her back, but wanted to keep the friendship ~ would you give signs showing disinterest?
if you did like her back ~ would you be forward and pursue her at the risk of the friendship?
c) neutral ~ could go either way...currently don't have a crush on the friend or anything, but mayy see it being a possibility

And what do you think is a best way for a girl to test which scenario it is--a) vs. vs. c) besides straight-out asking the friend out? Is there a way to do it so that he won't know you like him, but you'll find out how he feels about you? (is that even possible)

my girl friends and i are friends with a group of guys. i have a small crush on one of the guys, and out of all of us, him and i are considered reasonably close. i know what type of girls he likes: tall, slender, long hair, and naturally pretty face. i'm quite the opposite-- i'm far from slender and i'm 5'1". recently he told me he thinks short girls are cute too, and you know, offering to walk me back if i do end up having late-night classes next quarter, offering to teach me how to ride a bike/swim, saying that when he hugged his mother he thought of me (i'm only a bit taller than his mom -___-), and just generally saying nice things. i don't know if he's interested...or am i just mistaking gentlemanly acts for something else?

even if his intentions are unclear at this moment, should i just keep my feelings to myself? i heard that things can get awkward if the guy never had thoughts of dating the girl, and i really wouldn't want to lose him as a friend either. he's a "hot item," as in: cute, athletic, tall, tanned, and gentlemanly. i don't know if i should wait for him to come to me or pursue him (which is something i'd rather not do as a girl). :x

ehm, this probably doesn't belong here, but eh.

1) do guys express their feelings by staring at girls?
- guy A in music class always stares at girl A.
- he stares so often that half the time, when the conductor starts conducting, he hasn't even put his instrument up yet.. which makes the whole band wait for him.
- guy A and girl B stare at each other until one of them notices. and then the girl does a "o_O" face and the guy automatically looks away. and then stares again at the corner of his eye. for the whole freaking *** music class which is 1.5 hours, i'm guessing? iunno, i'm not in their music class.

2) do guys have 'crush'-changes? like. do they like this girl one day & not the other? or are they just trying to 'conceal' feelings?
- guy A in math class constantly glances at the girl even though he's at the front of the class for "bad behavior" xD and she's at the back. (or that's what she told me)
- guy A in gym class [period after math] does not look at girl A at all. which is probably when he is around a lot of guy friends.

hmm from your descriptions... my guess would be he likes you becuz first of all hes sorta shy and he doesn't know much about the girl so how else to start a convo wit a girl he likes? by askin her only thing he knows about her which consequently is in her interest as well since shes involved in it so thats like 2 birds wit one stone.
