When deciding which career you want to choose,
do you honestly go for the money or because you truly have a passion for that specific career?
I personally go for passion.. (graphic design)
I think it's right for you to do something you enjoy.
But at the same time, you needa think about your future family...
Like the financial support - will they get enough? etcetc.
Meh, I don't know.

Many people I know usually go for the money.
My friend wanted to be an artist, but since artists are hard at getting recognized,
he turned his major to being a pharmacist - & he hates chemistry :/
Man... he's soooooooo good at art too sad.gif

haha yeah so how about you?

i like what u said, it connects together so much

but really, will your passion be really lifelong if you choose it? based on experience, i found that interests i have can change.

my dad is really nice about letting me do what i want for a career, my mom and grandma isn't.
if you don't make much money, what's the point of your passion if you struggle paying your bills?
thats what they always say, and im rendered speechless at times.

so thats why i might want to double major in civil engineering and east asian studies/chinese (wow seems hard). i love buildings!

The truth? I go for money.. Just kidding. I'm planning to major in psychology (Christian Counselor) and Ministry (Women Ministry). I love to preach Christ to my friends (when I get the chance or when they are willing to listen to me) and let them know more about Him. I have passion for Christ that what I do, people will go through me to see Christ. And Christian Counselor comes in because I'm there for my friend, listen to their problems and try to help them. yep..

O snap ... I wanna be a surgeon too ... I'm pretty passionate about it ... I've been wanting to be a doctor for like 4 years ...

It's give great pay and I'm really interested in it ... The only thing that bothers me is the long residency ... 5 years for general ...

That's why there needs to be passion in medicine ... I'm willing to do it ... it's just really long. haha

Passion, of course.
If you find something you are truely passionate about and work to be the best at it, I believe that money will then come to you.

Well I want to say both. Making good money is something I want to focus on doing. I'm going into psychology next year and then hopefully something in the Public Health field. This isn't the psychiatry dream that I thought I was going to do for the longest time. But I want to do this.

always keep the faith

It's about what I want to do. As long as I'm not starving or shivering in the cold, money's not my primary motivation.
Hey, look! Finally a different signature after all these years!

Ditto. Plus, I'm pretty competitive with my friends. I wanna see who will make more money. o_o; I like material things, so doing something I'm good at and making a lot of money while doing so will make me happy in the end. Haha. I'm not exactly PASSIONATE about computer engineering, but it's a good field and I like computers. tongue.gif

I say, passion, passion, passion!
Parents say, money, money, money!

Wouldn't it be wonderful to pursue our passions and
make the funds too?

I still say passion. If your child is passionate about something,
nurture him/her and give him/her the training he/she needs to
succeed instead of taking everything away and virtually leaving the child... broken.
I love me alot, alot, so you should all love me alot, alot, too!

Money and passion. I know that majoring in Journalism won't bring much money now, but I have dreams for the future that I want to accomplish that will bring me money. Its true that passions change, but I've always loved to read, and reading and writing {to me} go hand in hand.

Actually, I really wanted to become a writer, but I figured journalism would be more practical. :x At least I'd be able to support myself, and that's all I'm looking for right now.

I have interest in both but money is probably more important in the beginning. i do like and look forward to studying in the field of medicine [and earning money as a surgeon in the future ], but my true passion would be writing/art <---hopefully once i'm financially set i can then easily pursue my passion ^-^!

combination of both.

for example, i would not do something super boring just because it makes a lot of money. but i would not go for something merely because i love it.

the money side of me is going for engineering or research (probably the science field, basically) because i do love science a lot, especially biology.

i feel SO much better writing or doing art because they're really my passion. i'll do them when i have time. they can remain as hobbies.

seriously, my parents care so much about making lots of money that they would just tell me to be this and that because the job makes a lot of money. fortunately, they listen when i say no about that.

parents may support us financially in our studies, but they don't go through all the hard work & study we do to get to the career. they have no right to treat us like we're just money making tools for them so they could have money when they're older.

...but really, if we're going for money, then isn't "money" itself our passion lol
