WE ALL KNO TIBBY'S ARE NOTHING IMPRESSIVE STOCK! dont flame.

but for the price, looks nice inside and out, and has A LOT of potential.

What do you guys think about em?
might get one in white.

check out this short (less ten 30 seconds) vid of a sexy tib lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQj83kXsHY8

its a white 04 GT with pretty much just a wide body civic conversion, rims, exhaust, and changed the stop lights? . looks niceeee w00t.gif

not really. its a heavy fwd car, with mac struts. a civic (eg/ek) or dc2 integra probably has more potential. but if you are just going to rice it out (like the one in the vid) then its a good car to start with

yeah they do. im not saying they haveMORE then integra cause those do have a lot too BUT ive heard/seen/read stories man lol. plus an assassin SC can get that baby up to 400+ hp and torque. (well im not sure bout the torque but im pretty sure).
i saw this guy who has the assassin SC and he ran a 11.1 Quarter mile time. cant argue with that. specially for a tib.

im just saying, the price:mod ratio for the car is damn good i think.

Edit: o yeah, and the tib was an auto. biggrin.gif

so what you can get power out of anything, its still fwd and it still has mac struts. and wont be as fast around a track as a proper car with the same amount of mods. also drag racing is gay

for less the 25 grand id say a 11.1 quarter mile time is pretty nice.

of course in the vid i saw the guy probably had more then 25 grand in it but you can get DAMn good results for under 25G considering the cars only like what 18 grand?

im pretty sure u cant do that with a integra. but i might be wrong.

yes you can do that with an integra or civic. if you care about drag racing so much (god only knows why drag racing intrests people) just buy an old 5.0 mustang, total costs for running 10's will be much cheaper (not like you have the driving skill to pilot said car). hell people make 10sec cars in the $2007 challenge. thats right kiddies 10 sec 1/4 for $2k cost of car included. why you want to drag race fwd is beyond me, its the worst platform for it.

2nd gen rx7 chassis + v8 + n2o + used slicks + driving skill = 10 sec pass

i think 240SX is an easier platform to drift with than an RX-7.

even though you can make the tiburon fast it'll still be a tiburon

Gas mileage sucks in the pansy v6 and has practically no power at all

Drove a friends tib and was disappointed beyond belief. Feels as heavy as my 3000GT and slower than my 240.. dry.gif

Save up for another car, trust me you'll be saving money that way

this may sound irrelevant but can be totally relevant at the same time: soompi has some very young folks and it makes me feel old. unsure.gif no offense.

I think he just likes the Tiburon. With the right amount of money, you can make any car go fast. Its up to each individual, some like looks, some like raw power, some like agility, some like cruising, some like tracking, and some like drifting. IMHO, the Tiburon is ... an ok car, im not saying its GOOD, but im not saying its bad because there are a lot of worse cars out there. The amount you pay for a tiburon, you can buy a prelude, civic, accord or a lot of other cars that have just as much potential, if not more.

I did hear about the assassin SC, but I wonder what the gas milage would be. With all the work done and everything installed, you could have probably bought a old EK/EG, a K20 and a turbo kit and been king of the road. I dont really understand drag racing. Drifting looks fun, I want to get into autoX and tracking.

I wouldn't buy a Tiburon.

Meh, I don't like Tibbys.

With all the money you could dump into a Tibby, you could have bought a Civic/Integra shell, swap a K-series and have the same potential for less.

tirburons are not impressive stock and modded. good for a daily driver just like most hyundai's but a joke when tuning comes into play.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times
