hi, how should i prepare for sat2 chem?
im in ap chem right now, and im going to take the subject test on june 2.
my ap exam score is likely going to be a three. when i took a old pratice test from an old barrons book, i had 540.
my chemistry knowledge is pretty good, i just need to know how to apply it.

can past test-takers of the test give me some advice?

if you're taking ap chem right now then i think you should be set for the SAT II. if you want, you can just review the chem topics in the SAT II chem book and see what topics they typically cover and put emphasis on. you should take those diagnostic tests and see which sections you need to brush up on.

i took that test this month~
be really careful on that true/false/CE section
go over ion colors, 'correct' lab procedures and trivia like that
work efficiently and don't get bodged down in a problem because each problem must take less than a minute

basically, i thought the bulk of the SATII was very similar to the AP

good luck!

Barrons is HARDER than the actually SAT II. So, most probably, if you take the real SAT II you shall end up getting a better score. Like everyone else said, make sure you review your concepts well. biggrin.gif I'm taking it on June 2nd, and a little nervous. ph34r.gif Mmmm, you may want to try and buy the Kaplan/Princeton Review book. They are more accurate in giving you what you MAY get in your SAT II. But yeah, go over the things you don't understand and learn them. (:

how much chemistry have u taken?
you should try to do some outside studying while you can to see what u can do. there are certain topics that u can learn in a few days and there are those that u can't.
PM me if u need help. i might be able to help

Avex:
cool!
thanks for offering
i've only taken one year of chemistry (not even AP either.. just honors chem)
but my teacher told me she covered every topic that's on the SATII chem test in class sometime in the year
after wednesday, i'll have a LOT MORE free time
(starting from now till wednesday afternoon i'll probably get a total of 15 hours of sleep.. i have so much to do.. T.T)
i feel kinda unprepared but not really at the same time
b/c my school has a really difficult chem honors class and the teacher told us that the SATII doesnt go into much depth as we did in class so..
iono.
i probably should study though
how much hours are you putting in every night?
:)

your teacher might be right about what she said, but you should go to the collegeboard website and see if she's right and look at each topic name and see if you know the topic clearly.

im in ap chem. and yeah, since im in ap chem, i feel lazy to even study but i do study (i try to do 3 hours a day). i feel like i know the information, but the barrons book i have makes me lose my confidence.

but i think whats important to know is whats on the test and what kind of questions they can answer (especially the TT, TF, CE ?s. those are so annoying if u cant connect the ideas), and how to work on those ?s
