Help, Less Than 100 Mb Left On My C: Drive! What can I do?

I can't delete nor move anything off the C drive anymore without permnantly messing up my computer. I have saved as much to my D drive that I can (it still has 57 GB of space left). Anytime something needs to be installed, it goes straight to the D drive.
The Sims 2 takes up around 700 MB because it forces itself upon the C drive (I actually saved it to the D drive, but it saves an addtional amount of space on the C drive, which is extremely annoying). Microsoft Professional Office 2003, which won't even work for us because we don't have a code, takes up 620 MB, but my mother won't allow me to delete it.
What else can I do to save my C drive? If I buy an external hardrive, will that work? I feel like there's nothing else for me to do. The system has already crashed on my mother's side of the computer and wiped out most of her stuff.
At 6:49 pm, my C drive shows only 64.7 MB left. See how serious this is? Even after restarting the computer, I will be lucky to get 20 MB back.

2) manually manage your system swapfile (set it to 1.5x the amount of ram you have)
3) disable/lower the amount of system restore points you have
4) remove unnecessary components (ie. windows messenger..the old one that comes with XP, etc)
5) if you have norton internet security, disable the norton protected recycling bin (it holds deleted files even when you "delete" them)
6) clear your %temp% folder/run diskclean utility that comes with XP
7) get a new computer
yeah sims2 is a monster. i have all the expansion packs installed, and when you include the save games as well, it comes to ~7GB.

1. I've removed all the programs that I could have
4. Did that, too
7. Comupters cost money >>; My computer's currently running on the XP Service Pack 2, so how would I upgrade my drive?
But thanks for your advice, I'll try them out to see if they work.
Re Sims 2: I actually want to own them all but I can't because they want to eat up my C drive (EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE INSTALLED ON THE D DRIVE.)

i had a 200gb drive a week ago. i just upgraded it to a 500gb. all i did was buy the 500gb drive, plug it in, use partitionmagic to copy everything from the 200gb drive to my new drive. unplug my 200gb drive, then i have an upgraded computer with a 500gb drive. OR you can just throw in a new one without migrating things over.

As far as clearing out temp files, recycle bin and all that... keep in mind you'll need to log on as each user and clear them.... I dunno about Restore points but for things like temp files you'll definitely need to do it for each user.

Hm, that sounds like a good idea. I actually just deleted Microsoft Office Pro (and nearly had a heart attack at the same time because my free space went alll the way down to 376 kb o_o) and gained 355 MB of space. I'm kind of worried about the copying part. Would I have to login under my family's name and manually add everything to the new drive? Would the computer automatically know that this new drive is still drive C?
And thanks for the additional help guys! <3

the copying is the easy part. get "partitionmagic 8" (google it
the computer wont see anything different since all your stuff was cloned to the new drive. partitionmagic works wonders.
how about that? is hdd upgrading something you're seriously considering? cuz this is the way to do it (or you can just reinstall windows, etc from scratch).

Yeah Look up CrapCleaner (CCleaner)
I've seen it "claim" 800MB of useless stuff could be deleted.

Actually that happened to me on my last laptop. I used up way too much space and memory. I would delete random things periodically, but then I noticed that my hard drive memory was continually dropping each day. I started deleting files and programs... but my hard drive was still being depleted! Apparently a virus had found its way onto my laptop, and b'cuz it was so unstable it couldn't properly defend itself. Oops. I ended up having to reformat the hard drive, but the damage had already been done. It stayed alive long enough for me to transfer any remaining files to my new laptop... but then it just completely died. So sad.

O_O Are you serious? A Virus? Oh man, because now I can't get above 200 MB anymore even though I had 355 MB last night. Ugh, this is so annoying.

I gained back 14 GB before after removing programs and deleting stuff, the defragged the hard drive. I used System Mechanic during that time. It was free trial and was still able to do it. I don't know if it still works, but if you are willing to. Download and install the free trial. It tells you whats wrong with your system and help you clean it up.
It worked for me in the past when I was low on memory.
Other than that. You can get another internal/external hard drive.
