for 2 months i've been walking around purchasing cigarettes, beverages, food and as transport to school. needless to say, it's becoming a burden especially life here in the states where everything is so spread out. if america was as compact as many nations in asia (or maybe even the big apple) i think life would be much more convenient.

who doesn't have a car?

i have one but i remember not having one...
i used to ride my bike to the train, take it and then ride like 2 miles to see my girlfriend at the time.. and when i skipped school i had to walk home. sucked majorly.... after getting a car i feel like without it, i would be like a bird with its wings clipped..

Next best thing is ride a bike. You get to your destination in decent time and you get excercise!

I don't. But I'm getting one soon. I've lived 17 years without a car. I'm finally getting one and I can't wait!

what it do, what it do?!

I remember long before I had a car, I heavily relied on public transportation. Then got a car and public transportation dissappeared out of my life. Crashed that car, public transportation was back in my life. Got a new one, but now, I have both car and public transportation in my life.

If I had a bicycle, i'd probably ride it to work, but if it weren't some crazy drivers here in the city, i'd do it.

i probably won't get a car for another year or so. even though i'm turning 19 soon... i just don't have enough funds to buy myself a car and my parents aren't the type to just buy me one. life without a car? it's nice. it's like i have a personal driver AND i don't have to pay for gas.

if i lived in an urban environment, i would rather walk than drive. walking is more healthy, but buying a pack of cigarettes on the way back...that really does nothing for me. haha. seeing as how my situation is, i can't walk xx miles to work b/c it's way far out there to be walking in the first place.

very inconvenient indeed. when i first got my license, my dad let me drive to work everyday and sometimes to school, but it was risky because i didn't have insurance yet. a couple of months later, i got into a minor accident (without insurance) so right now i'm not allowed to drive anymore. hopefully my parents will get me a car soon, i cannot afford one with my current job tears.gif

I have one, but I tried to use public transportation to and from school. It is hard to do so since having a car is so convenient.

I'd ride my bike but after hearing stories of 2 of my friends getting hit by cars, I tend to lean against it.

i like the convenience and inconvenience points you all have. looks like the environment of residence plays a big role here.

my bike got stolen, so i am walking for now. tongue.gif however, if i do need to get to the bank, the ride via bus takes about an hour while via car... mere 10 minutes.

i remember when i crashed my car, i had to ride the public bus to school for about 3 months. it took 2 hours compared to 30 minutes with my car. 2 freaaakkin hours!!! good thing i had carpool going to school i only had to take it coming back. cali's public transportation is really long but you cant blame them.

now i live in the big apple and i walk and ride the subway most anywhere
