That is RETARDED!
It's not websites that use a lot of energy, it's the monitors. Plus, I searched through some sites, yes with google, and some say the saving money thing was based on CRT monitors, not LCD which most people use.
Want to save money? Turn your screen off, or go to properties and set the time, when you don't use the computer. Easy as that.
I'm gonna stick with google thank you. What annoys me the most about google is how much space they have left. What a waste. :nods:

just another wannabe google search engine.
i suspect if anyone who replied read the about page.
they are not wannabes. they just want to save the environment by allowing people to google without the blaring white background. in fact there are even applications to help you turn off the white on the monitor, for the same purpose too. thanks for suggesting this.

if you were really environmentally tuned in, you would volunteer to clean up the beach / park, take public transportation, use 100% recyclable materials, help lobby in your local, state, and federal government and say global warming is true and we have to do something about it.
"The energy savings may apply mainly (or fully) to cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors; you may not save nearly as much (or any) energy by switching display colors on an LCD monitor, which already consumes far less energy than a CRT."
like someone mentioned before, most people use LCD now. why don't you put ur monitor brightness to 0 while u always use ur computer, it'll prob save more energy than using blackle.com only when u need to search for something. heck just don't use a computer already and go to a public library where the computer is always on and use that.
blackle.com is a silly excuse for people who aren't environmentally active to claim that they contribute. no thanks.
