i need to change my windows authentication key. cause i used my friends xp cd, but i couldnt use my key. is there a way so i can use my key?

either you activated too many times or you are using a different version with a different key. you will need to call microsoft and they will activate it for you.

You don't need to activate it, a key is never deactivated because of frequent use. Make sure that you're not trying to use a XP home product key for XP pro or vice versa, they don't work. I've never tried it but I think each CD might only work with it's own original product key. If you're using your friend's CD, just ask him for the key as well. You won't have any problems.
