Weighted=more credit for honors and AP classes.
(Say you got an A for an honors class, instead of a regular 4.0, you'd get credit of a 4.8)
Unweighted=same credit regardless of honors/AP classes.
(Say you got an A for an honors class, you'd still only count the credit as a 4.0)
So for unweighted, all you do it get all your academic grades and average them.
A+=4.3
A=4.0
A-=3.7
B+=3.3
B=3.0
B-=2.7
C+=2.3
C=2.0
C-=1.7
etc.

Well it depends on the school. Most schools arent that complicated (see above post)
Most are just add one more point for an honors class or ap class and all points awarded are whole points.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

Right.
Instead of the A+, C- system, where it's all complicated, most school's just run a A, B, C, D, & F grading scale.
A = 4 points
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
Add one point as saera said to every grade above a D.
For example, you're taking 6 classes, and you get 5 A's and 1 B. That's a 3.833 GPA unweighted.
If you're taking the same 6 classes as above, 3 of which are APs (and you get A's) in those classes, you'd add a point to the scale up there and the total would be the sum of [5pts, 5pts, 5pts, 4pts, 4pts, and 3pts], or a 4.333 GPA. weighted.
Hope that wasn't too confusing?

Well, my school has a 6 point system and a 4 point system.
For unweighted (I'm pretty sure this is how it is):
6: A
5: B
4: C+
3: C-
2: D
1: F
And weighted:
4: A
3: B
2: C
1: D
For unweighted (I'm pretty sure this is how it is):
6: A
5: B
4: C+
3: C-
2: D
1: F
And weighted:
4: A
3: B
2: C
1: D

My school has a 5 point system for AP classes.
An A is a 5 for AP, 4 for regular.

it depends on the school or the district...we only get 0.025 per AP
