Itunes Problem

sorry...this was posted in the wrong part of the tech forum...sorry. so...here goes.

ok...my friend got this new iPod. and she's having problems with iTunes.

she didn't have the cd to install iTunes (i dunno why).
then she downloaded iTunes from the official site.
and when she tried to make it work, her laptop restarts each time.

and when she borrowed a cd to install iTunes and tried to install it, her laptop still restarts by itself.

anyone knows why this keeps happening?

Does it just restart all out of the blue when you attempt to install it? Are you sure it's only iTunes doing this and not any other stuff when you're trying to install? There might be some other problems with the computer in question.
