im going to high school next year ^^;

but i really dont know what to expect next year.
can someone help me?

are the juniors, sophmores / seniors really that mean to freshmans?
is it true theres a 'scrub' day when all the older guys beat up incoming freshmans?
what 'cliques' are there?

But in my school. Seniors are very mean to the freshmans.
If freshmans park in the seniors parking lot. They vandilize the freshman's car o__o;;
I don't know about Scrub day. I never heard of that o_O;;

We have cliques at our school XD
Like when I was in freshman.

We had "Korean Ggangpae Girls" and "Korean Ggangpae Guys" clique group. XD
And "Only for NERDS clique" or "Only for BAND geek clique"

Nobody beats up freshmen at my school. Everyone just does their own thing.
As for the "cliques", I don't really think there are any unless the way I define clique is different from yours. :x

i think it depends on your school. I live in canada.. between high school and jr. high, there wasn't that much of a difference. The big jumps were from elementary to jr. high and high school to univierstiy.

There aren't really cliques (it's not like mean girls if that's what you mean). but we do tend to hang around with certain people because of interests (like if your in IB, you tend to only see IB people in your classes... or if you're from the same jr. high, you've already got friends), but that doesn't mean groups don't intermingle and it isn't that evident (unless you're in the jock hallway)

My advice: get involved so that you enjoy your high school career (and plus it does look good on your resume). you get to meet people with the same interest and explore different things.

FRESHMEN CAN DRIVE? O__O?

Sophmores / Juniors / Seniors look down upon freshmen.. so just stay out their way and they won't be too mean. If you block their way believe me they'll be like "stupid freshman!" haha. Well that's how it's like at my school XD I think it's hecka stupid cause we were all freshmen once before and then when we became sophmores, my friends automatically started going "ugh...... I hate freshmen" x]]

we have "freshman friday" butttt.......... I don't think I've ever seen a freshman dumped in a trashcan. except I renember my friend being chased by upperclassmen before but he probably provoked them

I don't meant to scare you or anything haha, cause freshman year was the best year EVER for me :]!!!!

I don't know what you mean by cliques, but of course there's always going to be people who have their own circle of friends.. ^^;;

lol seniors here don't beat up freshmen... they just make walls in the halls to block the freshmen from going to class o_o ...the infamous 'senior wall' here. and at assemblies/pep rallies the freshmen get booed at my the upperclassmen.
cliques... there are several but it's not like certain groups hate other groups. everyone talks to each other even if they're from different crowds. it's not that bad.
join clubs, sports. don't skip school o_o it's best to wait til senior year. don't worry too much. it's gonna be fun!

I think it just all depends on your school.
The freshmen are considered as rookies so the senior will definitely make fun of them but it depends (once again). It shouldn't be so overboard--unless you have a very mean school...keke. And let's see, freshmen girls shouldn't worry--unless a senior guy starts talking and flirting to you. Run away...because if you become their girlfriend, you will fall down very hard when they dump you.

One big piece of advice... if you don't look or act like a freshman, you won't get canned.
Act like you're familiar with the place. If you look at all lost, you're a prime target for stupid seniors to can.
Basically, just try to blend in. The seniors at my school were kinda immature so yea, they kinda went overboard, but the security is really tight. Ive seen about 6 canned freshman this year. i'm a senior, but i don't like doing that stuff. its just plain stupid.

oh..and this doesnt really have anything to do with what you're asking..but please DO NOT stand in the middle of the hallways...if u wanna talk please stand on the side. its really annoying to me when i see freshmen standing in the middle. xP

hm...there will be ocassional fights...but I'm totally clueless about it lol. I don't think there's anything to be nervous about. It's just like middle school. Some freshmen can be scary, seriously, some act like a bunch of wild animals...O_o

Like everyone said, it depends on which school you are going to. For my school, we had freshman fridays where the seniors would usually threaten to beat the freshman up, throw them in a trashcan, tie you to the flag pole, and do a lot of other stuff. I seen it happen, but they never bug the freshman girls. It was mostly for guys.

The senior "girls" usually are mean to you as in...just mean because they think they hold some higher status or something. Just ignore them and walk away. But, I don't think they will do that. They didn't bug me when I was a freshman.

Don't be nervous about it. High school is awesome. You will love it there. Don't worry about it.

personally, I loved the freshmen this year. Just don't act like you OWN everything and that the school revolves around you and I think you'll be fine (that was why I didn't like last year's freshmen). Oh. And the only thing I find really annoying with freshmen (besides what I mentioned before) is when they get all... LOUD with their friends. In my ear. While I'm right next to them or near their table at lunch. And then they start throwing things. Like Pizza crust (that happened to me my sophomore year. Someone threw a crush of pizza across the cafeteria, thinking it was funny...). But then again.... I was one of those freshmen that threw ketchup packets at my friends and missed and it was fun because... we just didn't care.

I don't know. Don't worry about it. Freshman year was my best year in high school. I say live it up because everything is just going to get harder from there because of the focus on schoolwork or... whatever. Anyway, my school didn't have freshman anything. Security is pretty tight because they got this new dude and he's all... mean. XD But we didn't have freshman anything at my other school either because we were all too busy having our own fun. So yeah. Good luck in high school! Get good grades--but don't study too much in doing so or you'll stress yourself out--is my only advice. It pays off!! Have FUN~!

Hhhm, at my current high school there's really no seperation of classes, you hang out whoever you hang out with, regardless of age. But there are a lot of cliques like the emo, rockers, gothic, nerdy asians, white/cool people, ghetto asians/mexicans. Then again, each high school is different...At my old high school, there was a lot of grade seperation, freshmen would hang out in one area, sophomore the other, etc

this year's freshmen class are SO obnoxious...so they deserved whatever harassment (but it never amounted to beating up people) they got from the seniors, juniors and us sophomores, because they are so full of themselves and never learn >_<.
But, don't worry! If your class is mellow then there'll be no problem at all.

And my school doesn't really have cliques..it's just that the jocks usually hang out together a little more because they do sports and stuff together.

The majority of the freshmen this year are seriously obnoxious. The freshmen girls show off their expensive bags and act like they're so cool. And the freshmen guys act like complete a-holes. I've only met like 1 nice freshmen who wasn't annoying or obnoxious. Just be sure not to act like the world revolves around you and don't give attitude to any of the other upper classmen for no reason. But if a upper classmen is annoying you, then just tell 'em or off or ignore them.

Yes, my school does have freshmen friday, but mostly the seniors do it to all the freshmen guys. But my school has a strict policy that we can't throw anybody in garbage cans or mark them. If we do, we'll have in school suspension.

There are cliques at my school, but I think these cliques formed like waaay long ago in middle school. And you'll also make friends with some upper classmen from your electives, clubs, sports, etc. :]
