You need one of these

They're called cassette adapters, you can pretty much buy them in any technological store like Bestbuy and such for around $20 or so.

^ if your ipod is capable of using a transmitter, you can go get an FM transmitter
or go buy that cord and get the audio techs there to install it for you

I've had the fm transmitter hooked up to my radio, but it dosn't work so well. It frequently goes out of tune and the sound is horrible. I would getting ipod2car adapter. It's easy to install. All you have to do is connect the adator to back of your radio. Sound is cd quality. Only thing is it would disable the cd changer if you have it on your car. Make sure you get the correct harness. I purchased the adaptor and harness at ebay for $50.

If you want a really good FM transmitter, this is what you would want:
http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-transmitte...ransmitter.aspx

It is pricey and a bit bulky but it's a powerful transmitter, but you might have to open up the box and make some adjustments to the transmission power settings.

But if you really want good sound, you're going to want an ipod hookup by cables.

What kind of radio unit are you using? If it is a stock/factory radio, and if it also has CD Changer functions, it may be possible to get a device to add a AUX in to your radio, which will deliever much better audio quality than a tape adapter or FM transmitter.

I've gone through this solution for my Volvo headunit, which doesn't have a AUX in. I bought a device to plug into its CD Changer input, which now gives me a AUX in for my iPod and my Sirius Radio.

If you going to spend the money getting a FM transmitter you might as well get a good one because i went through like 3 crappy ones before i go the one i have now. I had bought 2 cassette adapter which had just bad quality sound. Also don't get fm transmitters that run on a battery they also have bad sound quality. The one i got now was one of the more expensive ones from Monster it cost me 70 at circuit city. Its worth getting compared to the cheap ones the quality of sound and everything is better. The transmitter i have just comes with a regular 3.5mm audio jack because i have a Zen vision m. I can tell you the ipod monster transmitter goes for like 35 on ebay.

Just be reminded that using a FM Transmitter will only sound as good as FM itself.

For those stock radios that can add a CD Changer, odds are there are converter boxes that plug into them for your car and would allow a AUX from a iPod or other device, at CD quality sound.

I too had been through cassette adapters and FM transmitters, all of which I hate, because the sound quality is so poor... the 'converter' box I bought for my car was only $70.

Good for anything that has a headphone jack (basically if you can put your headphones in them, you can use them).
