Movies For Ipods would like some help with this

my dad is working overseas so he asked me to buy him an ipod and fill it with movies...but buying all those movies are going to cist me A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY...is there anyway i can get movies for ipod for cheaper, like not having to buy them itunes? PM with details please!!!!!!
