I think this may have been asked before, but I want a definite answer.
I know for the SAT, you have to send colleges all your scores. So colleges will see each individual section (Math, Reading, Writing). They look at the highest scores on each section, right? So let's say I did well on the Math and Writing part for one test, but totally bombed the Reading part. And on another test, I didn't do so well on the Writing and Math, but better on the Reading. Will I be able to choose the highest scores and combine them to make a final SAT score, even though that's not what I originally received on one particular test?
Does this apply for the ACT as well? Can I pick and choose individual sections (English, Math, Reading, Science, Essay) and take the highest scores to make a final high score?
Sorry if this was asked like a million times before.

If you look at specific school's admission web site, they will specify how they calculate SAT and ACT scores. In general, your best scores, regardless of what test, will be considered without regard to other lower examinations.

I don't think you can pick the best in each section, and then add it. I think you just pick the highest of them all, in the first place...if you know what i mean...like pretend, even if u did bad on teh writing the first time u took it, but overall, the score was still better than teh second one, u would just send in teh first one....gosh, i sound confusing!
To be great is to be misunderstood.
