Factor:
x2 + xy - 6y2=x2+3xy-2xy-6y2=x(x+3y)-2y(x+3y)=(x-2y)(x+3y)

hope it is right.

1. Nicol88 got it right. It's (x-2y)(x+3y).

And the second question is a little vague ...

I could be (5 + [Square Root 2]) / 2 ... or ... (5 + ([Square Root 2] / 2))

(5 + [Square Root 2]) / 2 = 3.20710678

(5 + ([Square Root 2] / 2)) = 5.70710678

but it's probably the first one ... Where it's 5 plus the square root of 2, which that answer is divided by 2 equaling 3.20710678

It's the 2nd one. By order of operations you must do the square roots first, then division, then addition.

(5 + ([Square Root 2] / 2)) = 5.70710678

O yeah ... How could I forget about the order of operations ... It's almost summer man ... my thinking mode is going down. laugh.gif
