i can't remember the exact numbers of the gpa and sat score they told us, but i was impressed by them--it might have been something like 3.7 and 2100. but ultimately, the decision is made on the entire package: if you've got a high gpa and sat score, but few extracurriculars, you may not be accepted, whereas those with very strong extracurriculars and not as stellar gpas and sat scores may be. i'd suggest you go to www.collegedata.com and look at the stats of ppl going to sc and input your own information into the college chances section to see if you need to work on anything to improve your chances :]
in general, i've heard that usc is one of the most generous schools when it comes to financial aid. i myself am going in with $25K/yr, and am very satisfied with my financial aid package.
the people and campus are great! i might even say some of the best i've ever seen

contrary to what most people think, it is not filled with rich white kids; of course, there'll be some, but that's the case at most private schools anyway. and the average income of the incoming freshman class at usc is even less than that of ucla; that fact was surprising to me. the advisors and faculty that i met while i was there for orientation were friendly and always willing to help, and the students i met said that the professors are outstanding as well. i don't think anyone can deny that usc has a beautiful campus. it's small and centralized, so one really can't get lost. the architecture is nice--buildings are all made of brick, a very college-y feel--and overall, it's just a very clean and comfortable place. i love it

hope that helped a bit! fight on! ^^V
