Today I was reading some boards for my car and came upon the following pictures. Just wanted to remind everyone that driving safely is one thing, but driving a safe car is another. The safest combo is both....

The driver was driving alone, and got out unharmed, not what would happen to the passenger if there was one.

If Volvos saved every life, it would be a no brainer which car everyone would buy....

But yeah, in this situation a front passenger would be pretty much be severely injured or killed. The driver was unharmed though.

Probably got T-Boned and got smacked into a pole... thats my best guess. I don't have all the info to his accident.

Although i'm not sure what kind of car would have T-Boned it... its appears awfully low.

LOL I love it.

Dude, ok so you drive a tank...... I read on yahoo that Audi A4's, Saab 9-3's and the Acura RL were ranked among the top safest cars as well. Volvo's aren't the only safe cars on the road. It comes down to this...... guns don't kill people, people kill people, cars don't kill people, people kill people.

Whats wrong with dying? People do it everyday. Sorry to sound morbid, but one day you will too, just a matter of time. Fight the clock!

Car crash test ratings are there because they have to make sure the car lives up to a certain standard. In no way does it measure how it will perform in a real life crash. Look at this poor Volvo, something really smashed it down low... in a side impact crash test, the car strikes a solid even barrier, which is taller than the car. No one really knows how well any car would perform in real life, when other real life cars strike it. Its just like my old car (Mazda 626), in a offset crash it was just rated 4 stars or Good, but in reality it saved my life and left me unharmed, which was all I needed. I crashed head on (from my perspective) at 30mph into another car and boy did this car's front crumble and so did the other car.

All you could possible want from your car in a car accident is for it to save you.

I would love to visit Volvo's crash test center one day (in Sweden), where all day long they just crash Volvos into other Volvos....lol.

I dont like dying because a drunk driver rear ended me into the middle of an intersection... or if I fall asleep on some train tracks.

Either way it all comes down to the future, you think about it more when you have kids. 240+ sr + no air bags + smell of fuel all the time + rattles and noises everywhere + rough suspension and plenty of things old and broke + kids = no. Volvo + kids > 240 + kids lol if it's just me I don't mind, when it comes to others safety is first. I wouldn't have wanted to be the driver in that accident though if anyone was in the back seat, nothing you could have done probably but it would be on your conscience.
