College............................so Far Away

Freshman year my grades were okay (4.0+), soph became worse, and my MOST IMPORTANT JUNIOR YEAR I screwed my GPA to a 3.7.
Now I'm not even in the top 10% anymore and probably ranked like 100 out of 500 people...used to be like 30 out of 600...wtf right?
Do I have enough time to bring up my rank for college?!!? I'm a senior now....and I'm going for early decision
My 1st SAT was horrible, only around 1700, but I'm planning to break 2100 after another try (suggestions on HOW?)
I'm also planning to take SAT II's...but which ones do I have to take??
I want to go into the most competitive major, which is business financing, but I feel like I won't get into ANY colleges with my current status
What are some of the BEST SAFETY colleges I should look into right now for business?
SHOULD I apply as a business major? What should I do to INCREASE my chances of getting into the top notch schools?
I heard applying for business might lower my chances...b/c it's so competitive
So I think I'm going to apply for business program in these universities:
UCB
UCSD
Cornell (should I trust princetonreview? It said this was a good match...)
U Southern Calif
U Texas Austin
What are the chances I'll make it into the UT honors business program or any of the above?
I know some colleges look for specific achievements...do you know what I should focus on!?
PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS...THIS IS URGENT!!! ALL TIPS APPRECIATED!!!

And if it makes you feel better, I'll share my story and you'll realize you aren't worse off than everyone in the world. I had a 3.8 freshman year, 3.9 sophomore year, and then a 2.9 junior year. I thought my life was over, finished, caput, 'cause a 2290 SAT and 5's on all my AP exams still didn't count enough to get me admitted the places I really wanted to go. Then junior year I realized there was no point in dwelling on it, so I worked full-time all summer, came back into senior year in full gear and have had straight A's ever since. I was waitlisted at three schools that are really top-notch, and rejected from JHU (duh...applied there because my parents wanted me to), but guess what? I was still accepted to some schools in the U.S. that weren't anything to sneeze at, though below where I wanted to be before, and given loads of merit scholarships; I was accepted to McGill's B.A./B.Sc. program, and then accepted to the University of Toronto, too, and those are pretty much the best Canada has to offer. Anyway, the point is that if I can get into decent schools with merit scholarships with a 2.9 GPA my junior year and only a 3.8 and 3.9 before that, then you have a good shot. I didn't even have the best extracurriculars, and I had a disciplinary record. I even know a girl who got expelled from school her junior year and was still accepted to Macalester, which is a damn good school. And I have a friend who was accepted to Cornell for engineering with a 3.8 GPA, so you don't even have to be perfect to make the Ivy League, either.
Sorry to be blunt, but get over it and do better next year. There's nothing else you can really do besides work on your SAT score by studying the specific sections and ideas you're weak on, get great grades next year, stay involved in extracurriculars, write good college essays, get good teacher recs, and apply to a range of schools. Keep your mind and your options open. I'm so glad I did! I never thought I would end up going to Canada for four years, but that's exactly what I'm going to do, and I'm happy with my decision. I don't even think about junior year these days because at this point it just doesn't matter anymore, so don't say your life is over. You have no perspective.

like ^ that person said, dont worry about it. just try harder in your senior year. My only advice... def develop good relationships with your teachers so that they can write you rec. letters.

If you think a 3.7 is rock bottom, you'd scream if you look at MY report cards.

Seriously. I had a 3.3 and I'm pretty sure my GPA's a 3.1 right now. You aren't even close to rock bottom.

Which college did you get into? I'm worried the business program at UT is super competitive...

Psh, you'll be fine. Even if you aren't top 10% (don't worry, I'm not either) you still have a great chance of getting in. Along with your GPA, how well rounded are you?

All I have to say is that you should apply to that school you think you will never get into in a million years and one that is for surely a safety.
I applied for biological/health sciences..at 16 schools. I ended up going to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in the Honors Program at their Bio school. That was by far one of the lower schools on my list, but I'm happy with my decision.
I guess that was completely off-topic, but basically apply to more than 3 schools. One boy in my class applied to 4 and only got into 1...he wasn't happy. He spent most of April/May wishing he would have applied to more schools.
May I suggest the Carlson School of Management (business school) at the U of MN. I'm not one of those crazy "school spirit" kids. It's just that it's nationally ranked and all. It's one of the better schools at the U of MN. The class is smaller, so it's not like you're going to school with all the Liberal Arts kids.
G'luck.

3 Reach schools (great schools that you probably won't get into but still worth applying - you never know.)
4 Match schools (schools that fit your GPA/SAT scores)
3 Safety Schools (schools that you know 90% you'll get into that you wouldn't mind going - this is for just in case you don't get accepted to any Match schools)
Some reach schools for you - pretty much the best business programs in the US:
Cornell University
Georgetown University (McDonough)
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan)
New York University (Stern)
University of California-Berkeley (Haas)
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Ross)
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (Kenan Flagler)
University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
University of Virginia (McIntire)
Match schools for you:
Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper)
Emory University (Goizuetta)
University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign
University of Notre Dame
University of Southern California (Marshall)
University of Texas-Austin (McCombs)
Washington University-St Louis (Olin)
I honestly don't know why you're stressing with a 3.7 GPA. But anywho, getting 1800 on first try is nothing. As long as you're consistent with your studying, you can break 2000 easily.

Those are some pretty tough colleges to get into alone ...
Reality just hit me upside the head
