i'm going to college soon, but I hav no car to get there I can't take my writing test at the moment cuz my mom can't find my US citizenship certificate, and it'll take me some time to get it. Plus i hav to take writing test, learn to drive, take driving test....etc...before i get my license. SO yeha it's gonna take some time.

BUt it's hard to find the perfect car within my price range, doesn't come often. ANd i found one i like even though i'm picky. ANyway....my mom was thinking maybe i can put it under someone else's name temporarily (not her's she won't let), but the problem with that is u gotta find someone willing to do it. Or she suggested buying it, but not transfer the title of the car till i get my license....but u can get ripped off like that...cuz they hav ur money..

anyway..how does this sound?? n e other suggestions?? would it work??

i'm pretty sure you can buy the car, and just make sure that you physically get the title, so then when you get your liscence you can put the title in your name. only problem is you would have to find a way to get the car from the dealer /private owner to your home, drivin aroudn with no plates is kinda risky.. unless you have access to tow truck or something... i dont see why your mom couldnt put the title in her name temporarily, its not like shes filing taxes anytime soon

it would be better to get your license first, at least your permit. It would safe you a whole lot of a headache.

In California, you do not have to have a driver's license to buy a car, but you might need to have a California ID card.

You can be a registered owner of the car, but you just can't drive it legally until you are licensed.

What kind of car is it you're looking to get? You're probably better off waiting until you are licensed until you get a car.
