I am contemplating whether to take the subject test for math IC tomorrow, but I heard that it is not looked upon too favorably by many colleges.

By no means do I want to take the math IIC (math is not my forte), but I was just wondering if it's okay if I take level one instead.
I've heard a lot of different things regarding the level one math -- for example, someone said it's not counted by most schools. But shoud I take it anyways? Or is it just a waste of time and money?

By the way, I want to go to a college at around the UC level.

Thanks!

OH, and if anyone can tell me what to expect / what to cram, I would be very appreciative.

I would recommend you not to waste your time and money on Math 1 (if you are aiming for UC's) because UC's do not accept Math (1C)

so ya.., you should go for Math 2 wacko.gif or a different subject

I highly suggest Math II for UC.

There's no point in taking Math 1C ever, anymore. I don't even know why it's still offered. The reason why UCs (and other schools I'm sure) don't care about it is because the math section of the new SAT I includes some math 1C topics now
current...
.book readings for: hk society, hk social policy, social geography, globalization & information society....... fun times.
.tv shows gossip girl; how i met your mother; the office; grey's anatomy; 30 rock
.music kings of leon; late night alumni; the hush sound; slumdog millionaire soundtrack

I would recommend Math II for UCs as well, but beware: unless you're really good at math/cramming formulas into your head, you won't be prepared. I wasn't prepared, so as I took the SAT IIs yesterday, I just did my other subjects and left Math II blank. :T

Well, I'm pretty sure either all or most UCs say that if you're taking math for the subjects test, you should take the math II.

Many colleges require you take the Math2C test. If not, most 'urgently recommend' that you do. Take it. Math 1C is useless.

Umm... I'm pretty sure that the proctor told us that if you leave ONE section blank..
all of your scores are cancelled. :x
I hope you didn't lose them all.

if you decide to sign up for a test but not take it, thats totally fine; they won't cancel your test score.
