I've searched old soompi threads on this, but it looks like the registration form has changed a little bit? (Or I'm just really confused and incompetent lol) And I read elsewhere that you need a Korean SSN, but there are definitely non-Koreans accessing it too. Can anyone help? I'd appreciate it so much.

How Do You Register For Cafe Daum? Sorry if this is a newbie kind of question...

I don't actually understand much Korean, but I can read the characters and some simple things. I've successfully registered, so here's my iffy attempt at guiding you through the registration process!
On the main page, you will see a box like this near the top on the left column:

You'll come to a page like this. Click on the blue link on the bottom left.

Next, you'll see this. Make sure the checkbox is ticked.

After that, click the button circled in red. (If you're using Internet Explorer, you'll be automatically detected as registering from overseas, so you can skip those steps.) Enter your country code and telephone number.
NOTE: This is the telephone number that Daum will use to call you. The phone call comes a few seconds after you you hit the button. This is to verify your identity. A 5 or 6 digit (I can't remember!) security number will be read to you, which you must enter.
WARNING: The phone call is in Korean and the numbers read out will be in Korean. I'm sure there's an online guide somewhere on how to read Korean numbers, so familiarise yourself with that first.
Once you're done, click the blue button at the bottom of the screen.

Once that is successful, you'll be taken to a form to fill in. I forgot to add in that the date of birth format will be your year of birth in the first field, then the month, followed by the day. The radio buttons next to it actually allow you to choose between a solar calender or lunar calender. As per usual, once you're done, click the blue button at the bottom.

You'll be brought to another page, but this is optional (it requires a Resident's Registration Number anyway) and you can log in to your account from the main page.
There are many things I don't understand, but this should get you registered. Anyone else who can give some more additional input and information would be great! (Like how to actually navigate Cafe Daum, what the functions are, because I have no clue!
