Hi! biggrin.gif I need some advice: My contract with Verizon is ending on Wednesday and I don't know if I should stay with Verizon or switch to Sprint. My dad was the one who got a Family Plan for me, my sister and my mom. We're staying with the family plan... My dad said to get Sprint 'cause that's what he has now. But I think Verizon is pretty good and I don't really know about Sprint...

Which is better in terms of service, price and all that jazz? (I live in NYC).

Also, if we renew the contract with Verizon, we can all get new phones right? And is it going to be expensive?

Sorry for the stupid questions... I don't know anything about these stuff. ^__^;;; Advice would be appreciated, thanks!

In terms of service, it really depends on where you live. I'm in LA and both Sprint and Verizon are excellentl I currently have Verizon, but I'm gonna try Sprint once my contract ends. There's this one plan under Sprint that includes free incoming calls, but the thing is, you only get like 300 minutes per month, but all incoming calls are free! The price is like 30 bucks per month, so that's good for a broke college student for me lol..

And once you renew your contract with Verizon, you can get a new phone, but I don't think it's like free or anything. You still pay but you don't pay as much. Or so I think... hehe. You should go look at the Verizon website to check out the phones/prices...

I didn't say much.. but hope it helps in some way.

Personally, I don't like Sprint, but I can't say if it's better than Verizon because I've never been with Verizon before. But just to let you know, I read on MSN and Sprint got voted for worst customer service.

I have sprint, and i live in Jersey. It's not bad, but most people that i know here have verizon. I hear that the reception is better? In any case, i'd say that it's a toss up. I'm on a family plan so i'm not paying that much, but sprint and verizon are kinda overpriced for their service. Expand your horizons young grasshopper.

I currently have Sprint and Verizon ^^"... I have two cell phones that's why >__>" I just got Verizon two weeks ago.

My contract with Sprint expires this November... and like... Yeah, it does depend on where you live. I live in Vegas... and I haven't seen that many people with Sprint mellow.gif But anyway, aside from that...

Sprint.... Sprint.... EHHH... My dad gets a lot of headaches from it that's what I know for sure. The minutes... aren't enough? I dunno but we pay a lot for our phone bills - _ -" and yeah, bad customer service :x

Verizon... we're trying it out right now but so far my parents are liking it mellow.gif

The reception is kind of better but... While I'm talking to my friends in Cali, my phone from Sprint has better reception.

I'm kinda going @_@ with each haha x.x"

Useless comment :x

From what I've read, Sprint has better data plans while Verizon has better voice plans.

Here's a question, why change if it's working fine? If you and your family haven't had a problem with Verizon's service and think the cost of the family plan is good, then just keep it. You might regret it. Don't change unless it's broken, that's what I usually go by, unless I'm willing to take the risk.

About the free phone thing. You would have to sign up for another year or two, and then you can get a free phone or buy 1 and get 3 free. However Verizon do there own deals. Without extending the contract (which causes the lower price), you'll have to pay the full MSRP price.

From where I live..
Sprint is better for me.
Service, and Family Plans. And some discounts
depending on how much you pay each month.
but there is only a couple good phones.
Not much of a variety.

Verizon has bad service here.
Kind of expensive to me.
But more phone choices.
