If I got some opinions on them, it would help me a lot with my decision.
Which one do you guys think I should get?
If it helps, they both cost around the same price(just under $300).

At first I thought it would be okay if I didn't get him anything since our family doesn't really get each other birthday presents
But I was thinking, as a means of peace I should get him something but I don't know what to get him!!
I was thinking of getting one of the following:
- a nice silk tie
- cuff links
- leather portfolio
BUT, my dad's a very practical person but in turn extremely picky so if I get him something like a tie, there's a big chance he won't like it
and I don't want to get him a gift voucher or something because it seems to personal and too much of an easy way out
Any ideas or suggestions of safe presents?

Its my first year anni in about 2 weeks and I have yet to figure out an epic present.
My bf loves it when I make him things and I swear I've ran out of things to make! Ive already made:
-Scarf
-jar of stars
-box of origami whales with random msg on them
- jar of love hearts for our 6 months and 181 msgs on each and a big one at the bottom he gets to read when it hits our first year anni.
So right now, I only have 2 things I planned to make and sorta started/half completed
- Pillow/cushion both sides has a whale - female/male and our names stitched on either side ( he always calls me a whale cause I eat alot)
- Diary/book with my entries about him from our 6 month mark, pages of random collages etc stuff we've done basically a memory book.
So my question... what else can I do

(there are also a couple ideas below ^^")
I was thinking of what I was going to get for my boyfriend because our 2 year anniversary is coming up =]
What do you guys think about making a scrapbook - that includes a story of us (that i'll write) stuck in it and this sentimental cross-stitch thing?
I was considering whether I should put the story separate?
Any help would be appreciated <3!
A lot of anniversaries are coming up
I think it should be fine to put them together, it sounds like a good idea :]
He'll love it as long as it's from you.
Any ideas? D; I need help!
I want to do something more than just a "I'm Sorry" card thingy, ;[
A handmade card would be a better idea than purchasing a card.
It's more meaningful and you can add your own touch to it.
It depends on what made him mad but baking something sweet or his favourite food would be a good idea<3
but my gf likes the one i made her..i think she does that is lol!=X
i was wondering what would be some good things to add in there to decorate. i mean i intend to turn this scrapbook into a memory book, but other then memories how would i make it prettier? lol...i try right? XD i was thinking flower petals, but which last long? i know roses do, but do others like tulips? her favorite is white but i don't know how long they last after they wilt.
so i guess my long post question is, how to prettify a scrapbook/memory book. xD!
Paper hearts or you can buy scrapbook decorations at a craft store to make it easier.
Maybe ribbons as well would make it more girly but something she'd like.
Flowers are okay it'll make the scrapbook smell nice but to add your personal touch,
maybe spray your cologne on it so she'll think of you whenever she smells it haha :]
Actually for the flowers any flower will last ^^ as long as you glue it and let them try it'll work.
Putting plastic over it, to preserve it longer too :] Have fun.

Cook him a homemade meal and stay in - watch movies or whatever you like.
Relax and have a meaningful birthday with him.
Or go out - somewhere close or bus somewhere if you don't mind.
- Glow in the dark bowling
- Movies
- Miniture golf (?)
Somewhere he likes if anything :] Good luck!

Links do not work. Upload onto: http://www.tinypic.com
But if both are the same price, choose the one that suits your girlfriend more.
I mean, you know her more than us right? :]
Think of things like how you first met and see if anything comes from that.
Or common interests, hobbies, etc.
It's not hard to come up with simple ideas to make him smile :]
Cook for him perhaps, make him handmade or something.

It's more of the thought that counts I believe at least.
Hmmm how about a customized couple tee or something haha?
Shoes aren't a bad idea either but what you have is good enough :]
Spend the rest of the time just being with him.

So, my 2month is coming up... I know, it's only 2 months so it shouldn't be a big deal, right? My bf doesn't really care for anniversaries as far as I can tell, but I kinda find it special, even if its only 2 months (>__< haha I'm such a girl..) so I was wondering if I should get/make him something still. I made us matching coffee cup key chains for our 1st month (since we met at starbucks lol) but sadly his htc phone has no keychain ring so its unused, unlike mine... he didn't get me anything but we did go celebrate. For our 2mo, were going on a picnic and I was thinking of making him something small again... think it's a good idea? Have any cute ideas that aren't too over the top to lend me? Do you think its a guilt trip in anyway?

I don't have any requests, but rather-- I have suggestions if anyone is interested.
Although many people like to spend money on gifts, I think it to be true when they say that "it's the thought that counts." I also believe that bought-gifts do not mean any less than hand-made ones. However, hand-made ones tend seem more sentimental.
For any & all occasions:
- message in a bottle
- baked goods
- paper cranes or stars (with a message written inside)
you should say something along the lines of "can you unfold paper cranes without ripping them?" or else they may never open them, haha.
- homemade pillow or blanket, if you're the craftsy type
- compilation of fav songs in a CD or tape
- goldfish (real ones)
It's all about thinking outside of the box. Some prefer gift cards and lotion, but some like gifts out of the ordinary. One time I got a friend a trashcan for her room and filled it with candy, photographs, a stuffed animal, a picture book, and socks. She said that it was one of the best gifts she's received in a long time. Put some thought into it, and the ideas will come (:
this is SUCH a great idea! im so doing that trash can thing.
hehe, sorry for taking ur idea.

Also:
- handmade cards:
make it pop-up and pull out
make it huge and stand up
record a message kinds
spray your perfume that will remind him of you on it
- gift baskets/care packages with a bunch of random little goodies instead of one huge present in a cute container
- handmade bath bombs, candles, soaps in fun shapes
- gag gifts having to do w/inside joke
- decorate their room with streamers, photos, confetti
- get something ordinary but with a twist. like if your bf is a techie, give him a USB drive in the shape of his favorite animal or whatever or personalize/customize the gift
- small pet (frogs, goldfish, sea monkeys, turtles, hermit crabs)
- build-a-bear
- artsy people can make like duct-tape wallets, capri-sun purses, cute totes
- mixtape/CD
Spencers, Claire's, Morning Glory, the dollar store, 5below, and Urban Outfitters sell good gifts offline.
I usually just pair something sentimental/handmade with something material.
You always have to be careful when buying jewelry, clothes, and perfume/cologne, in terms of size, their taste, if they already have it or something similar to it, if they even wear jewelry/perfume/cologne, and whether the perfume/cologne would work with their body chemistry.

my boyfriend, who's turning 22 this october and LOVES to dance, is the drummer in the band and i was thinking of giving him customized drum sticks. my uncle's turning 30 in september and he's the back up vocals and plays keyboards. for him, since he loves Ray Bans, i was going to give him some, but does anyone know where to buy cheaper kinds? lol
i was thinking of making something for my boyfriend, like phone charms, plush doll that resembles him, and something from this list...
- goldfish (real ones)
would any of this be great for someone his age?
sorry for the confusion everyone. just wondering since i don't want to spend make something for my boyfriend xD
all in all, i still don't know what else to give my uncle. i've gave him Ray Bans in the past xP
