The petals shouldn't be dry, fresh would probably be the best. Just take a thick book, pluck a petal off, stick it in between one of the pages, and close. I think it works better when you put some weight down on it, so I usually stack more books on top of it. I've done this a few times and I've never noticed the pages colored or damaged in any way.

QUOTE(soyabeangirl16 @ Nov 8 2007, 05:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ive got a question:
i want to get my really good friend a book, but i dont really know what kind. she likes flowers, but i dont think shed want a gardening book. and when i ask her what she wants she says you cant get it here. so any kind of books (something you could get at chapters or w/e) maybe even something like a story but i wasnt really planning on that.
thats ok if no one has any suggestions, ill find something eventually.

i was browsing through anthropologie last week, they have a nice coffee table book collection.
they had a book (i forgot the title) consisting entirely of pictures of flowers in BEAUTIFUL detail. really, it was just such a gorgeous book.
it's kind of expensive at the store, but if you jot down the ISBN number you can go to amazon and find the same title for cheaper

ok, here's my question (i'm also thinking ahead for xmas). has anyone ever raised sea monkeys before? i'm thinking about getting my 8-yr-old nephew a tank for xmas, but i'm not sure if they are hard to take care of, etc.

I need ideas for a girl in my Bible study class.
I don't know her really well and we each have our wishlist and she wrote "whatever is fine" on hers sleep.gif;;

I also need ideas for teachers!
I have like 10 teachers I need to give and I don't want to give them food.

Any good ideas? smile.gif

^ for teachers, how about a paperweight or some desk ornament & a thank-you card to go with it?

for the girl in your bible study class, you can't really go wrong with gift cards if you don't know her that well. maybe a department store like macy's, or even a restaurant if you know her taste.

Eh, paperweights don't really flow in my school.

And we had a "no gift card" rule in our bible study class...
So yeah...

But thanks anyways smile.gif

Any other creative ideas for your teachers?

Ok, so this just comes off and sounding horrible but theres no other way to word it.
I had a really great penpal in korea, and shes so adorable!
I talked to her for about 2 months.. and then got so caught up in school...
So I couldnt reply to her letters... for a year and half..
I still cyworld with her but thats only once every 3months >_<

Now its X-mas. And I wanna send her something from AMERICA. Even though shes an asian girl
And loves cute things.... most of the cute things are already in Korea T_T
So I dont know what to get her from America?

I'm not sure if shes all jazzed about kawaii clothing..

So guys... gift ideas for a 16yr old Korean girl.

Help~

pleeeeeaaaaaase help me.
one of my best friends and i haven't been talking for almost over a month now. we got in a small fight, but it got bigger and i don't know why. she's a fob from korea, and i know she's a little stubborn and rude sometimes. i tried making up with her more than 5 times. anyway that's a long story, but christmas is coming up and i wanna give her a special gift. because she's still my bestfriend and she still means alot to me. i really miss her too. can anyone help me think of a special christmas gift i can get for her? it doesn't matter if it's a LITTLE pricey. thanks!

What should I get my bf for Christmas? By then, we'd be going out 10 months lol.

This is what I did for him so far (as in montharies and everything.)
-Couple cell chains&blue bobble head bear.
-AE shirt, that he never wears. >_>
-Jar full of chocolate and around each chocolate, a reason why I like him.
-Scrapbook.
-A soccerball last Christmas when I was just friends with him.
-Korean CDs.
I think there's more but I don't remember. -__-

I wanna do a Rolex or something for our 1-year, so scratch that for X-mas. The only thing I wanna do for sure is bake cupcakes, but I need a real present toooooooooo lol.

Any ideas? (He likes golf and soccer, if that helps.)

WHY'S IT SO EFFING HARD TO SHOP FOR GUYS!!! T^T

So Christmas is coming up, and I need help searching a present for my friend that I met early this semester. We've hung out at the mall a few times and I noticed she's been checking out shoes (heels) for awhile; her birthday is near Christmas too. So I was wondering if I should get her that pair of heels..and is it weird to buy shoes for a normal girl friend? I've met her for like 3 months, if that helps.

^ Depends. How expensive are the shoes? If they're more expensive than what you would usually pay, chip in with a friend.

when he says my name, I can't stop smiling.

What's a good present to give your parents and sister? Because I really suck at the whole
xmas shopping thing and I have a limit of time to shop at the mall. =_=
something that's usuable and not pointless, any ideas ?

haha wow, me and my gf's 2 month is five days before christmas. pretty close. our one month is tomorrow and i was struggling on what to do since i was busy the entire weekend and i'm sort of broke.
it's kind of cheap but i made her a card and wrote my feelings for her in it and i remember my friend taught me how to make an origami heart so i looked for some red construction paper and made one and i'm going to attach it to the card.
i feel like i could've done more though. ):

i got a lot of ideas for future references from this thread though. thanks!

i surprised my bf for our 6 month by hiding in a wrapped up box in his first class, and popped out with a bow on my head and a DS lite + M3 and homemade cupcakes

anyways, my step-brother wants to buy his gf (4-5 years) and him a pair of promise rings.. does anyone know where/what kind is a decent/good brand that's not too expensive? (preferrably less than $1000)

I really want to get my brother something nice for his bday and christmas this year!
Last year he surprised me with a new ipod + invisible sheild so I want to return the favor~

I can't decide which jacket to get him~

reversible script hoody - andy warhol

The Cinder Resident Zip Hoody - analog

The Server Network Hoody - analog

He's kind of a hipster, wears urban/street clothes, but he's also into aero & ae.
I can't choose >____< he said he wanted the server network hoody like 2 months ago, but now he says he also wants a nice grey hoody. =P i don't know where to look x)
