ok, i need helpp figuring out what to do for my mom's birthday which is in ONE WEEEK.
i'd like to go all out in corniness because it's probably the last birthday i can celebrate with her since i'm going to college. smile.gif
basically, i was inspired by SNSD's song dearmom cuz it was extremely sweet and i could relate to it.
i was thinking of singing it for her? and then i realized what a terrible voice i have.
so i was thinking of compiling a bunch of songs that id want to dedicate to her..and then make a lil book with the lyrics and a little note from me on each one..so she could read it as she listened?
the problem is, i don't know thattt many songs that would apply
i just want to do something that is more meaningful to show that her 17 years of dedication to me haven't gone straight to suck. since im terrible at vocalizing my thoughts, im prob gonna write my feelings somehow..
IDEASSSSSSSS?

Hi I'm looking for a gift for my dad..
He's retired.. old.. doesn't like clothes, ties, any attire for his birthday..
He's been a great dad and I really want to get him something nice.
He's low on cash since he retired and when he receives money.. he spends it on lottery tickets =/
I don't want to buy him that since he might lose sad.gif (he always loses and I get upset seeing him upset that he lost)
Anything in mind..
I seriously don't know!

Well, you can buy him just ONE lottery card along with something else? Maybe YOU getting the ticket can give him some luck =P
Take him out to his favorite restaurant for lunch/dinner or something. OR if you really don't know, and wouldn't mind giving him money, just give him a gift card to somewhere so he can't buy lotto tickets =P a bit impersonal, but I'm never good at thinking up of gift ideas for my dad either, haha.
Does he have any hobbies? If he does, you can find something related to that hobby and give it to him. Ex: if he likes planes, or golf.. you can buy him one of those fancy clocks or something..

gosh, i've been inspired so much just by reading some! and some are just so cute!

so my crush's 18th birthday is coming up on President's Day (yay no school!). he loves to skateboard, play basketball, loves music, and sometimes plays the guitar. for christmas, i bought him an American Eagle shirt cause he loves that store and guitar picks, but they were the wrong sizes. lol now his bday is coming up, I'm stumped. >__< i really wanted to buy something he could use for his guitar because he rarely practices on it, yet he bought it weeks ago.
i was planning on going out somewhere with him since there's no school. but idk where.

any suggestions?

get him picks (cheap) or an amplifier (expensive), or just sheet music of things he should serenade you with (find online)

^ Instead of buying something to please him..why don't you make something =D
I'm kind of in the same position as you but I figured something out haha. My bf is...let's say..of a higer social status that I am..I didn't know what to get for him..so I just made him something haha. It takes time but I'm sure that whatever you make, your bf will acknowledge the time it took for you to make it and how much thought you put into it. If you're not a crafty or artsy person..maybe you could cook for him? =]

so, valentines day is coming up. i want to make this one really special. so a little background first. my last girlfriend was in 8th grade about 2 years ago. i was a desperate retard back then. now ive grown up a little. i havent really liked anyone since then or wanted a relationship. just too lazy u know =X. but obviously, and im pretty sure you'll understand -.-, there was sometimes when i would b like "oh dang i think i like her" but i always shrugged them off because i realized they were just phases that would last a couple days. but now, this girl now ive liked her so long. i thought "okay its just another phase" its been about 6 months since i started liking her and its not going away =P. so i want this valentines day to be something amazing. so this is what im doing, my options are a bit limited because of money and transporation issues =X.

-i'm making a mix cd for her with many romantic/love korean/japanese songs. (she loves big bang so much)
-including lyrics
-a stuffed animal (build-a-bear possibly?)
-roses, im gonna make one of them and do the ill love you till the last one dies thing
-post card, add a note? dont know what to say though, maybe a poem?
-chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate =] (she loves chocolate)

so she goes to a different high school than i do so my moms gonna drive me their after my school ends.

i realize to some people this just might seem like any other week long relationship. but im serious about this. im not giving up. shes rejected me already but i will neva give up. and dont get the wrong impression. i will not say i LOVE her for a long while now.

if you have any more suggestions please tell me =]. including music for the mix cd. preferably korean/japanese because thats what she likes.
phew what a long topic -.-

I think a single rose and bring it up to her on one knee and confess to her. I think thats cute. Everyone will be like awwww!! haha or it may be too cheesy. But I think the cd may be a lil much?? I mean she probably has the cds right? I think to something simple but makes a big impression!!

-good luck!!~

i confessed already but in a umm...more clumsy manner?

You are so predictable. Do you ever wear anything out of the norm? Do you ever dream in other colours? Do you always have to wear black, white, drk gray and navy? Come on, even your desktop wallpapers are white, black and drk gray. There are many other colours that you could choose to wear.

I would replace number 5 with:

Michael Kors designs will make you look and feel even more fabulous. LOL

Here are some gift ideas I've got smile.gif enjoy!

-filling a jar with notes about why you like/love them (got this from a movie, haha)
-cologne (Jake by Hollister smells REALLY good!!!), or perfume (seventy seven by american eagle is pretty but inexpensive as far as perfumes go)
-a movie or season of a TV show that you both love w/ a note inside
-if he/she is a book nerd try to find an old/first edition copy of their favorite classic
-a homecooked dinner + watch their favorite movie afterwards (you can decorate a space outside or if you've got a nice attic open the windows and do it up there. christmas lights work well, and for the movie you can project it onto the wall in front of pillows/sofa/blankets/etc.)
-burning a cd of songs they might like and putting a cd cover on it w/ pictures of you two
-surprising them at the door of their house with a present and a bouquet of flowers
-giving them a map with destinations where you leave things for them, w/ the end destination being a restaraunt/your house/etc.
-when you start going out with them, (or start now) buy a journal and write in it whenever you're thinking of them, and document the times you go out w/ them. then, when it's around his/her birthday/your anniversary/other special occasion, go back and make notes in red and then wrap it and give it to them

hahaha smile.gif hope you get some ideas from that. i sat down and came up with a bunch of those just now.

They're excellent ideas! My bf actually did the ones above smile.gif

~*Anja*~, your selection is outdated fashion and wayyy too conservative for today's modern woman.

That's true, as the saying goes, "the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I'm going to cook for my man and with that I'm looking for another perfect valentine gift for him. I may consider something simple like
* A CD of his favorite band or something.
* An indoor picnic just for two.
* A slightly romantic card.
Also will consider valentine day gifts for him gift baskets. They can be chocolate arrangements, flowers and chocolates, chocolates and wine, or even bath or spa products.
