Summary for June week 2 chart:

No. 1 song: Lexy remains No. 1 with "하늘위로" (Up to the sky) for the 2nd straight week. Again, she beat out strong competition in SG Wannabe's "한여름날의꿈" (One Summer Dream) and Yangpa's big mover "사랑...그게 뭔데" (Love…What Is That?). Even though Lexy's song has not hit No. 1 on any charts in Korea yet, it is consistently listed in the top 5 on all our chart sources, enabling her to capture the top spot here.

Biggest Mover of the week: As expected, Yangpa's "사랑...그게 뭔데" (Love…What Is That?) makes a big jump this week, moving up 26 spots to No. 3. This should be the No. 1 song next week. The song is so popular in Korea that in many gayo shows, the MCs (or celebs) are singing part of this song to introduce it. This song's movement into the top 10 means that Park Keun Tae and Kang Eun Kyung has 2 songs in the top 10 this week, along with Ivy's "이럴거면" (If it is like this). Both are excellent ballads.

Hot shot debut: Lee Ssang (feat. ALI)'s "발레리노" (Ballerino) debuts high at No. 10 this week. Last album was a breakthrough for Lee Ssang, the big hit "내가 웃는 게 아니야" (I am not smiling) was a No. 1 song at the end of 2005, basically moved Lee Ssang from underground to mainstream. This time, Lee Ssang continued to please mainstream audiences with this mid-tempo hip-hop ballad. The timing of this song is good as Lee Ssang is making their come back specials on various shows this weekend. Let see if this song can do as well as "I am not smiling".

5. CSJH The Grace - 한번 더 OK? (One More Time OK?) - Even though only moving up 1 spot this week, this song is the new No. 1 song in the latest MNet M!Countdown chart. That means it should move up further on our chart next week.

16. See Ya - 사랑의인사 (Love Greeting) - See Ya has become a hit machine ever since they debuted last year. This is the title song from their 2nd studio album. It is impressive that this song debuts into the top 20 without having the album scores yet. That means it should be in the top 10 next week. Most of See Ya's songs previously were written by Cho Young Soo. However, this song is written by Kim Do Hoon.

17. Paran - 그녀와 난 (Her and I) - Paran quietly moves into the top 20 with this mid-tempo song from their single album "The First". Just like See Ya's song, this song should be in the top 10 very soon.

25. Hyun Young - 연애혁명 (Love Revolution) - Hyun Young is back singing again! The famous actress and MC scored a top 20 hit "Noona's Dream" last year. A re-make of popular Japanese group Morning Musume's 'Love Revolution21. This song is more up-tempo and it is good for summer listening. Let see if she can hit the top 10 this time.

36. Banana Girl (feat. Lee Yeon Ji) - 쵸콜렛 (Chocolate) - Banana Girl is a project which features different female vocalist singing dance songs. You can say she is the up-tempo version of Page and/or Ran. This time, upcoming talent Lee Yeon Ji (who is the female MC of KBS Music Bank now) is featured on this cute song.

41. Goodbye Sadness - 오죽했으면 (How desperate) - I think many of you have seen this movie like poster: http://img.news.yahoo.co.kr/picture/82/200...82_135205_0.jpg and it is regarding this song. I do not have too many details of the singer but his real name is Koo Jung Hyun. He has a husky voice like Tei and Park Hyo Shin. This is a very good ballad with a nice arrangement.

46. YB - 사랑했어요 (Loved You) - Yoon Do Hyun Band (YB) recently released their 3rd live album and this is the title song. Like most of their previous title songs, this is a rock ballad that showcased Yoon Do Hyun's soulful vocals.

Info: LINA (Ji-Yeon) first showed up in the Korean music scene as half of the SM girl duo ISAK N JIYEON. The group, which debuted in 2002, was suppose to be the female version of popular male duo FlytotheSky. However, ISAK N JIYEON was unable to match the other group's popularity. The duo split shortly after the first album but both girls remained in SM Entertainment and are still close friends to this day. Isak moved on to modeling and has been the MC of many music shows in Korea. LINA moved on to modeling and acting as well, starring in many music videos from SM artists. Info: Jin Bora, was first heard of when information was leaked from SM Entertainment in 2002. Initially training to become a solo singer, many people speculated that Bora was the "second" BoA. SM later changed Bora's name to "Sunday", in an effort to stop the comparisons. Sunday debuted in Japan in the summer of 2004, where she was introduced as BoA's sister. However, the single was poorly promoted and was not very successful. Sunday was also featured on the 2004 SMTOWN summer album, along with Ji-Yeon, DANA and Stephanie. Sunday's second Japanese single, ウソツキBOY, was released in April of 2005. The song was produced by M-FLO but once again, was not promoted well. Surprisingly, the single received positive response even with the little promotion it had. By that time, Sunday was already casted as the final member of TSZX. Sunday's budding solo career was put on hold when she debuted with TSZX in 2005.

Info: DANA debuted in 2001 as SM Entertainment's second solo artist. Personally chosen by Lee SooMan, DANA was expected to rise as the "next BoA". Prior to debut, she received promotion as an actress in popular boy band H.O.T's Age of Peace movie and in Kangta's "Polaris" music video. In 2001, DANA released her fairly successful first single "Diamond", a pop/dance track featuring Jung YunHo (who would eventually become a member of TVXQ). That same year, she released an album with the same name along with other singles. Her career blossomed and continued with promotion by appearing on variety shows such as X-MAN, as well as playing a main role in the sitcom Nonstop 3. Her second album release in 2003, however, was not very popular and sold poorly. From that point on, DANA disappeared from the music industry (aside from SMTOWN collaborations) until the debut of TSZX. Although she is considered the leader of The Grace, due to her longer involvement in the industry, DANA has stated in an interview that each member has equal status.

Our featured artist this week is the fast rising female quartet from SM entertainment Chun Sang Ji Hee (CSJH) The Grace. Their members are Dana, Lina, Stephaine, and Sunday. Originally, these 4 girls are not put together in the same group. Dana debuted as a solo artist when she was 15 with moderate success. Lina (Ji Yeon) was in the R&B group Isak & Ji-Yeon. They released one album in 2002 with good review but failed on the chart. Stephaine was recruited in the USA by SM entertainment, while Sunday debuted as a solo singer in Japan before returning to Korea.

SM eventually decided that these 4 girls from different backgrounds will put together as a group. After intensive training, CSJH debuted in 2005, not only in Korea, but in Japan and in China as well. Like any other SM artists, CSJH received a lot of attention and marketing help even before debut. Also, since 3 of the 4 members already had previous solo or group works, fans were anticipating their debut as a group.

CSJH were known as an acepella pop group at first with their debut song "Too Good", which was a sweet ballad. Fans were impressed with their vocal skills. However, the song was not considered a hit. In 2006, CSJH started to show off their dance skills with songs like "Boomerang" and "The Club" with more success. They also added "The Grace" to their name. At the end of 2006, they went back to a ballad "My Everything", showing fans that they are good at both up-tempo and slow tempo songs. Up to now CSJH The Grace has released 3 single albums.

Using the same strategy as DBSG and Super Junior, SM entertainment let CSJH The Grace to have enough exposure before releasing their 1st full studio album. That finally happened in May 2007. The album instantly become a hit with good sales figures. The title song "One More Time, OK?" hit number 1 on MNet's M!Countdown. It's the first time since SES that a female group from SM entertainment hit number 1 on the chart. SM certainly will count on CSJH The Grace to record more hits for many years to come.
