So, I want to buy a new car over the summer (a Subaru Impreza 2.5i). I've heard that sometimes (I live in the US) dealers will be more likely to give you a better deal if you buy when the new models come out or at the end of the month so they can get their sales quota up. Anyway, so I guess my main question is, when is the best time to buy a new car assuming that I'm going to buy it no sooner than August?

the best time to buy is near the end of the year...
cus they're getting the '08 models in and wanna get rid of the current inventory

Early welcome to the Subaru family!

Get internet quotes from all subaru dealers in your area every month. That will give u the best chance for the best deal

If you're not in a hurry, fall-winter, if you want it sooner, just wait till the end of a month, that's when dealers and salesmen are struggling to meet they're quotas so they'll more than likely put you in a car for a price you're satisfied with.

I got mine on december 29th so i got a heck of a deal. Original cost should be around $31 K out the door but I got mine for around $28 K. I think the later you wait the better the deal is... The downside is you might not be able to find the color or options that you want.

we got my IS in mid may and got it for 37.5k ...sticker price is 41k
i think you couldve squeezed out way more..cus ours was an effortless 3.5k
