I missed this bit of news yesterday...Gallup took a poll asking Koreans to name their favorite singers of 2009. Dambi took 8th in the poll (with 3 percent of the poll). What is most impressive is that she is the highest non-trot solo artist listed and the highest non-trot artist behind Big Bang and SNSD

A further breakdown shows that Dambi was the 3rd most popular singer for Koreans in their teens and 20s and 5th most popular among those in their 30s. Again, highest for any non-trot solo artist.

Very impressive indeed!!!! Go Dambi!!!!

Chung Lim Has Good Taste

It seems that no one is safe from the charms of the hottest female kpop artists these day - not even rising star Chung Lim!

On KBS JOY, Chung Lim revealed that he had encountered Son Dambi at health clubs and practice rooms more than once. He stated that "I will not abandon So Nyeo Shi Dae's Tiffany.", but when challenged with the question of choosing between the two, he went on to say that he would go for the sexy soloist Son Dambi.

Chung Lim's fanboying does not end there! It turns out that he was quite the Bi / Rain fan back in the day. He went out of his way to learn everything about Rain, down to his Hong Kong concert schedule that wasn't even available for the viewing public. Chung Lim eventually had a chance to meet up with the mega star, but chickened out and only said "Hi." He does hope that he will be able to develop a strong relationship with Rain in the near future though.

Okay...not so happy news relating to Dambi. Apparently someone created a twitter account with Dambi's name and tried to tarnish her image by having "her" twit that she wanted an Iphone. This of course set off alarm bells with netizens since Dambi is now the face of Samsung's Anycall phones. An investigation is now underway to find the evil evil person who did this.

I guess this is something that comes with fame but it is so wrong. I hope they catch the person and lock him/her away. Dambi has worked so hard to get to where she is at. It has raised an important point about whether sites like twitter should work harder to certify the identity of the people on their sites. Anyways, Dambi hwaiting!!!!

Found these pics this morning...I think Dambi is going to appear/has appeared on Imagination Plus. She has appeared on the show previously but never (at least I think) appeared after Saturday Night came out. I am going to try and look for the show and pull a few clips if (and when) I can.
