Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place... but I was wondering, does anyone know the equivalent of graphic editing & making with Adobe Photoshop for a web building program? Such as Dreamweaver? God... did that make any sense? Basically I'm asking, what's the best known program out there that people use now to build websites? There ya go... that's all I had to say, lol. biggrin.gif I haven't been very updated in the website savvy world for such a long time, I need to be informed b/c I plan on coming back. biggrin.gif But thanks for the help all! smile.gif

I'll vote for Dreamweaver....
Definitely the best, whether you are a beginner or a pro (even though I notices ,that some hardcore programmers tend to use Notepad)

But my vote goes for Dreamweaver tongue.gif

if you want to make fast webpages with a photoshop interface you can try creating one in illustrator then cut segments and make it into a webpage

I used to use Notepad! LOL... it was ridiculous b/c everything was manual & if you didn't know the codes you went all over the internet searching for what you needed & recoded everything to fit your own preference. smile.gif It sure helped me a lot b/c I had a friend who used Dreamweaver to build her sites, but she ended up being incapable of figuring out where all her errors were from so she had to ask me to come in & help her figure it out, & having worked with coding manually, I was able to recognize her coding problems. It sure helps & all, but in the end, it's just too much work, & I want/need something simple to use that'll bring faster results than just sitting there with Notepad. smile.gif Plus, I've probably lost most of all my HTML knowledge by now so having a program like Dreamweaver is a good aid. biggrin.gif Thank you so much for the recommendation kes! biggrin.gif I'm looking forward to more recommendations so I can make a final decision. biggrin.gif

not always have to use illustrator. if you made a website "layout" with photoshop, you can use imageready to make image slices and buttons etc... and it'll code it for you by itself.

however, dreamweaver is prob best html editor in my opinion.

btw, if ur making a website with html as the language, invest in xhtml and css. (make it w3 approved smile.gif) www.w3.org

I say dreamweaver.
It's not that difficult to use, you don't need everything they provide.
Basically all the basic essential options are there.
I always use dreamweaver (:
