Hmm, well I only got my computer like 3 weeks ago and I only tried to watch dvds and burn stuff like a few days ago. The thing is.. you can hear the dvd speeding up, and then it's like the disc is spinning too fast or something and then you'd hear this really loud grinding/jamming noise, which then im forced to take it out. It's very selective, sometimes I can watch the dvd, and sometimes I can't because of this weird problem. Also, when I burn stuff, I always have to burn at the slowest speed for the same problem. If I burn at 16x it just sounds like the DVD burner is eating up the disc, or getting incredibly scratched inside. The discs come out fine, cept I think the edges may be a bit scrapped. My DVD burner also has LightScribe, if you know what it is.. Well it lazers labels on to compatible LightScribe discs, and I tested that out and it seems to works fine.
So yeh, any thoughts on this problem? I should probably contact the maker, huh?
Anyways, thanks for any replies.

Not really sure. You can ask and wait for some replies at CD Freaks forums. Other than that, contact customer service and ask.
I think it's the burner itself that's causing the problem.
