when i record my voice on my microphone, the frequency does not show up. my mic is plugged in, my voice records, and when i click play, my recording plays back, but there is no frequency shown. can someone please tell me how i can fix this? O.O i would appreciate it a lot! thank you!

p.s. can anyone request me a program that i can use to record and mix my songs? i tried audacity, but man, that thing is so complicated to use. also, i cannot download adobe audition because it's too big of a file for my computer >0<;;;
