I wanted to get this SOFTBANK phone but it's like so complicated? it's under samsung?
Because my country has not brought in softbank's phones yet... so if i were to get one overseas, can i send my phone (if it needs servicing) to Samsung?

Softbank is a cellphone company in Japan.
It means, it's like Verizon or Cingular. But it's in Japan.
xD... It's my cellphone company. I'm on white plan in Softbank. hahaha
If you wanted this model, just search the Samsung Catalogue. Because if you're planning to get it from Softbank and you don't live in Japan, my god that's kinda impossible unless you have an alien card there.
Softbank isn't a brand, it's a cellphone service provider kind of thing. -o-

Errmm... This isn't right...
Softbank basically is a COMMUNICATION COMPANY, such as Verizon, Cingular, or in Australia, Optus...
It used to be called VODAFONE, but was bought by SOFTBANK, hence the current name
Softbank phones are made by several companies, including Samsung, Toshiba, Sharp, Panasonic, etc
These phones are then, REBRANDED into Softbank phones
eg. Softbank 911T (Made by Toshiba)
Softbank 707SC (Made by Samsung)
Softbank 904SH (Made by Sharp)
However, these phones are locked and can ONLY be used in Japan on Softbank network
You can't use it in US or any other countries
BUT there are exceptions, certain phones can be unlocked, such as 803T (Domyouji's phone in Hana Yori Dango) and 903SH

Your country won't be getting any Softbank phones anytime soon unless Softbank decides they want to operate there. Best bet, if you want a Softbank phone, is to get an unlocked one. I know the 709SC has been unlocked, actually I think most of the samsung ones have been unlocked. I have no clue if you can send the phone back to Samsung for repairs, but I'm assuming you can since it is a Samsung phone afterall (it's only logical!)
I'm also planning on getting the 709SC in white when I have money~
If you do end up getting it, give us a review on it. =D
