My aunt was told that she had to get a CPA or be fired. So she got her CPA.

or nursing (which is 1 year extra classes, 2 years for school) which is high in demand?
Both are about the same amount of pay.
Besides the fact that being a doctor is prestigious, it's what I wanted to do. But I really don't feel like going to school for another 5 years, and it's also going to be difficult to gain experience. Most optometrists work on their own... And I won't be able to set up my own practice for a LONG time. Optometrists get paid crud for being doctors, but school's still expensive. I'll be paying off my school loan till forever and then saving up money to open my own practice.

Being a nurse is the closer career path. It's also the more prestigious, if you work your way up. The lifestyle of an optometrist is more similar to that of a dentist.
You really need to shadow them to explore their lifestyles. Nurses work shifts, while optometrists work regular business hours. Shadow them for a few days, then image yourself doing that for the rest of your life.

i'm a cashier. the cash register is right next to the bar. so during the slow time right after the lunch hour rush, this good looking guy comes walking in, asking if we're open (there was no customers at the time), and i was like yea.
well he orders a beer and i tell the bartender to come and get his beer.
i usually count money during that time, so there i was counting a really big stack of 20s,
i guess he thought i was one of the bartenders, he kept talking to me.
i got annoyed cuz he kept messing me up, so i was like "wait!"
he got on the phone to call someone to pick him up, after he hung up,
he starts talking to me again! i was like "give me a second ok"
i guess i sounded really annoyed.
he goes "why do yu look so angry?!"
"i'm not angry. i'm trying to count money."
and then he goes... "wow, your a pinkberry"
i'm like "..."
and then he just got up and started leaving. looking REALLY angry. on his way out, he said, "i hope your business becomes successful" (or something like that)
he only too a sip of his beer too.
famous people i've seen while working.
- that guy from queer eye for the straight guy (the blond one)
- harry connick jr. and his family
- the lady that had cancer a while back (i cant remember her name)

You're right with the comment on pain and pleasure in the hospitality world. One of the pain is that I have to work today, tomorow and new years. Yet it's very fun! the thrill of serving 3-400 people in one night during a heated rush when the kitchen reaches 120*F+ is just orgasmic!
Once in a while you get pickyass customers who insist that their steak is med well when its med rare like they order, makes me wanna go out there with the thermo to shut their ass up. Theres also the really weird ones who request that EVERYTHING on their plate does not touch each other and must have equal numbers of each (WTF?). And the worst of all is ones who are allergic to EVERYTHING! theres not muh we can make for them haha
just my 2cent on the hospitalty world

Honestly i've been on Monster for a little over two years and have gotten no results, i got my last two jobs on Yahoo Hotjobs and get a ton of Calls off of CareerBuilder..
Post your resume on all three...
And the Trick to getting more calls is every week or so go in and edit you resume, even like a comma or a period or anything just a small edit and it keeps your resume fresh and the top so you get more views...
hope this helps and good luck i'm sure you'll find something
