I'm a student at UTSC (University of Toronto Scarborough Campus), what had happened was that I took some time off and I am now returning back to school (Fall of 2007). I enrolled myself back into UTSC and now that I've thought about it I would like to transfer to UOIT. Back in 2005 i was accepted into UOIT amoung other Universities, it just happened I chose UTSC for social sience and now I would like to go to UOIT for health science (which I was accepted in).
I'm confused over what I should do/the process. The courses I took at UTSC aren't related to the program I want to take at UOIT. So does that mean I still need to transfer over my credits? Is it possible for me just to start new as a first year student at UOIT?
I'm not sure what UOIT's policy is on transfers, but I would say you'd have to reapply. Look up the transfer application deadline, and see if you can still apply.
If you are accepted as a transfer, then you can't start as a first year student at UOIT and it would be best to transfer over your credits (for early graduation, getting rid of requirements, or what not). However, you would still start a new GPA. If you really wanted to be a first year student, then I think you would have to apply again as a freshman applicant and forfeit all of your current credits.
