QUOTE
white washed
Someone who is looked at as leaving behind or neglecting their culture and assimilating to a white, western culture.

That exchange student has really been white washed

urbandictionary.com laugh.gif

uhmmm when someone is "washed" it means they act like another nationality then their own. Usually and mots commonly used for white-washed but could be used as "yellow-washed" or "black-washed"

also from urban dictionary
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I'm just going to assume you're vietnamese from that link to your facebook.

Other people probably call you "whitewashed" because you can't speak vietnamese and you don't know anything about vietnamese culture and seem to be more involved in the "american" culture.

edit* not saying you ARE any of that... i'm just stating what usually causes people to think someone else is "whitewashed"

me and my friends used to call one of our vietnamese friends whitewash
because he didnt do or know the things that they did..since they were asian too
so i guess youll know when you sort of start forgetting what your culture does and start doing or getting into too many things that..um..white people do mellow.gif
Your love makes me want to walk on water, journey to the center of the Earth, sleep on the clouds, and kiss you. Now, only ONE is possible, and that one is the BEST one.

People say I'm not whitewashed. Because they say I'm too Asian. oO;
That's because I can speak Chinese (Canto. and Mandarin) fluently and everyone seems to know I want to learn Japanese and Korean. I also only listen to Jpop and Kpop, nothing "Western".

It basically means you've assimilated to a different culture, whatever color it is.
