im planing to buy a
AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core 2.6Ghz Socket 939 CPU
is that a good processor for my Asus m2n sli deluxe motherboard or is there better that i should get?
so can anyone help me decide on what to get it will be very much appriciated

Your motherboard uses the AMD AM2 socket so yeah FX60 would work. Personally, I'd if you only wanted to upgrade the CPU and you already have that motherboard then I would recommend the 5600+/6000+ (AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core Processor Socket AM2 Windsor 2.8GHZ) ~ 218cdn for the better price for performance ratio.
You've probably heard Intel's current offering is practically killing AMD's offerings, however, when the CPUs are running at stock speeds you actually get more performance for the same price. Its when you see Core 2s overclocked, thats what really sets them apart.

Yea, I doubt you want to get into any overclocking anyways. The new Intel's are for enthusiasts, and if you're just looking to keep up with technology, your AMD should be up to par.
