If they ask something like that, then obviously you've got too much makeup on. o_o
But it IS rude, and something a guy shouldn't say. Unless they're really oblivious.

The only time a guy has said something like that to me was in middle school. He just flat out said, "You wear too much makeup." Eventually I stopped wearing my makeup the way I did back then and looking back, he was totally right, haha.

The moral of my story: obviously it's rude for a guy to ask bluntly, "What's on your face?" but perhaps it's also a hint, too...

When guys ask about makeup i don't think they're trying to be rude, whenever i take an interest it's usually because i want to know how the girl made herself look so pretty. If it was because you've made yourself to look like a lady of the night, the guy would normally come straight out and say "you're wearing too much makeup."

^ if the guy is smart and doesn't fancy being kicked in the balls he has learned to not say things like that directly to women but instead to hint.

now, if a man asks, either you're wearing too much to the point that it's obvious, wearing too much to the point that it's bad, done your makeup very bad to where it looks like too much or he's genuinely curious.

initially i'll think 2 things simutaneously:
1. wow, he's really observant.
2. wow, he's really strange [normally i don't think they want to talk about girly stuff like makeup].

no harm though, they're probably just curious, i don't expect them to be well-versed in cosmetics [unless they're a makeup artist, in which, they won't need to ask]

only annoying when they ask "why" you do it

Here's a question for you ladies. It applies to some guys but the majority girls do this.

So my best friend, who is a girl, comes up to me and says, "I'm so sad right now..." then I ask, "What's wrong?". Her, "Nothing". After that she just walks away.

So my questions are:

Why do you do this?

Is it for comfort?

Just to vent?

What do you want us to do when you say this?

girls do that to test guys. or because they think they'd be annoying you by talking about their problems.
I know a guy really cares if he actually comes after me and says 'I know there's something wrong, so talk to me..'
your best friend is actually reaching out to you.. don't take that as a cue to give up.

Two months ago, a guy asked me why I put glitter on my arms while we ate dinner together.
I honestly did not know there was glitter. And I didn't know there was a whole abundance of it.
I blamed it on my lotion.

They should really print something on the packaging of a product stating that the contents contain glitter.

I asked my brother to take me somewhere yesterday. He agreed to do it, but had to take a shower first.
As we were walking out of the house, I notice that the back of his neck was sparkley.
Like thousands of shimmery dust sparkled when the sun hit it.
I immediately thought "uh-oh..."
Then, in the car while he was driving, his arms were sparkling in the sun too.
I asked, "Did you use my new Olay body wash?"
Yeah.

I was talking to a boy a grade ahead of me when I was in third grade. My friend was next to me listening to our conversation. He kept staring at my lips and finally said, "You have glitter on your lips." My friend told him, "Its called lipgloss!" But I didn't wear lipgloss... so I rubbed the bottom of my lip where he said the glitter was, and I found one tiny speck of glitter on my finger.

A boy (who liked me and I secretly liked him back) told me that I looked intimidating (and many more synonymous words... I mean, seriously, he wasn't holding back) the day I started wearing MAC Light As Air Powerpoint eyeliner to school.
I took his opinion into consideration, but continued using it... just not as much.

Its been four years since then, and I still own that same pencil.
There's about an inch of it left.

^ That's pretty rude, some girls are really insecure about themselves and you just make it worse by making fun of them *tsk tsk tsk. If a guy friend of mine said that to me, I would just smack him so hard HAHHA

Obviously some people must've done their makeup so ugly that he just had to point it out. Like bad application of false eyelashes or etc.. Most girls who can do their makeup nice makes it look natural or just really well-blended and it doesn't look distracting.

firstly, make sure your girl knows you're not much of a phone person, otherwise she might think you're being a tad bit cold
i'm not much of a phone person either, but short txt msgs [like 'g'day pretty miss =)'] will most likely make every girl smile if not grin like crazy making people around her think she's a little crazy ;D

It'll be rude or they just trying to imply too much make up? They probably didn't know how to say it and it came out wrong?

I have a question. Say a guy who you like messages you by mobile. How long would you wait to reply? would you reply straight away? or stall for time?

i would reply very quickly. however some girls like to keep them guessing

I guess it depends on how they ask.. I've had it once "you have sparkly stuff around your eyes" , " your lashes..are longer"

you could say they are observant and looking into your eyes when you are talking, it's pretty cool that a guy would be interested in your makeup.

but when they phrase it like " lemme white that sparkly stuff off." " you look bad in that" etc etc. it starts to be unno.. annoying?
